Important: If your Updox is connected to an EHR that syncs patient information, don't upload a patient list unless an Updox team member is helping you. Uploading could create duplicate or conflicting patient records.
Why upload a patient list?
Uploading a patient list adds many patients to your Updox Address Book at once. You can then use them with tools like:
Reminders
Video Chat
Text messages
Step 1: Open File Upload
In the left-hand menu, click Inbox.
Click Tools in the top right.
Click File Upload (.csv).
Step 2: Choose the patient upload type
In the first dropdown, choose Updox Standard Maps.
In the second dropdown, choose Patients.
Step 3: Create your patient list
Download the patient template.
Enter your patients in the template, one patient per row.
Save the file as a .csv file.
Step 4: Upload your file
Make sure Updox Standard Maps and Patients are still selected in the two dropdowns.
Click Choose File and select your .csv file.
Click Upload File.
Step 5: Check that your file processed
Your file first shows under Unprocessed Files.
When processing is finished, it moves to Processed Files automatically.
Why did my patient list upload fail?
Check these common problems:
Wrong column order. Columns must be in exactly the same order as the template.
Zip code format. Zip codes must match the format in the template sample.
Wrong file type. Save your file as a .csv, not an Excel (.xlsx) file.
Wrong dropdowns. Make sure Updox Standard Maps and Patients are selected before you upload.
