How do I activate my Smart Card?
Scan the QR code on the back of your V1CE card with your phone camera. Follow the on-screen instructions to create your account and set up your digital page. Your card is ready to use in minutes.
First-time activation
Take your new V1CE card out of the packaging
Flip it over to find the QR code on the back
Open your phone camera and point it at the QR code
Tap the link that appears on your screen
Create your V1CE account (or log in if you already have one)
Fill in your details: name, title, phone, email, photo
Click Publish or Go Live
Your card is now active. When someone taps it or scans the QR code, they will see your digital page.
Activating a card from your dashboard
If you already have a V1CE account and want to add a new card:
Log in at app.v1ce.co
Go to NFC Cards in the left menu
Click Activate Now or Add Card
Scan the QR code on the back of your new card
Choose which digital page to link it to
Click Save
Setting up a card for someone else
If you are setting up a card for a colleague or team member, either give them the card to scan themselves (they will be prompted to create their own page and link the card), or activate it on their behalf from your account and then transfer ownership.
If your team is on a paid V1CE plan and you need to manage multiple cardholders, see our guide on managing multiple cards or cardholders for the current options.
What if there is no QR code visible on my V1CE card?
If there is no QR code visible on your V1CE card, every V1CE card ships with a QR on the back, so check these in order before concluding the card is faulty.
Confirm you are looking at the back of the card, not the front. The QR code lives on the back, opposite the V1CE logo or your custom design.
Tilt the card under bright light. On metal V1CE cards, the QR is laser-engraved and can be hard to see straight on, especially on darker finishes. The pattern catches the light at an angle.
Try tapping the card to an NFC-enabled phone (a modern iPhone or Android, screen on). If a V1CE link opens, the card is working, the QR is just visually subtle.
If none of the above work, the card needs replacing. Send V1CE a clear photo of the front and back of the card together with your order email. V1CE will reprint and ship a working replacement at no extra cost.
My card came with an order but I cannot find it in my dashboard
If you ordered through the website and cannot see your card in the dashboard:
Make sure you are logged in with the same email you used to order.
Check that the card has been scanned at least once to register it.
If the card shows as assigned to another user, contact V1CE support with a photo of the QR code.
My card shows another person's page when I tap it
If your card shows another person's page when tapped or scanned, the card has been pre-linked to a different account and needs to be reset before you can claim it. See How do I reset my Smart Card? for the reset process. You will need the QR code on the back of the card.
My card scans to a 404 or error page
If tapping or scanning your card opens a 404 page or error, this is usually because the linked page is not published or the link name was changed. See My card link shows a 404 error or page not found for the fixes.
My card has stopped working entirely
If a card that used to work has now stopped working, it may be a free Subscription-Trial card that deactivated when your legacy V1CE Plus trial or subscription ended. See Why has my free trial card stopped working?
Tips
Your card works immediately after activation, so there is no waiting period.
You can change your page details at any time without affecting the physical card.
If you have multiple cards, each one can link to a different page.
