OASIS | Livestream Studio

Learn how to interact in the Livestream Studio

⚡️ Quick Answer

Inside the live stream room, you watch the speaker (and screen share) on stage while the remainder of the members are in the audience. Move your cursor or tap your screen to bring up the dock, where you can open the chat, add a question to the chat, browse the members list, or expand a screen share to full screen. Depending on your membership and your FOCUS milestone, you may also be able to ask a priority question.

🔑 Setup for Success

  • You're inside a live stream room with an event underway. This guide covers participating once you're in — see the entry-points tutorial if you're not there yet. Click HERE to Learn more.

  • Move or tap to reveal the dock. Controls stay hidden until you move your cursor (web) or tap your screen (mobile).

  • Priority questions depend on your membership or FOCUS progress. The Ask a Priority Question feature is available to alumni, all-access at all times. It is available to startup monthly members who've reached milestone one in FOCUS. Everyone can still add to the regular chat at any time.

✅ Step-by-Step

Get your bearings
A live room typically shows a speaker on stage, any active screen share, your own avatar in the center, and other members (audience) tucked into the left corner.

Open the dock and chat
Move your cursor or tap your phone to bring up the dock, then open the chat. Anyone, on any membership, can add to the chat at any time — including links to vistas in OASIS and groups in PORTAL.

Ask a priority question (if available)
If you're on the alumni or all-access (or startup monthly membership and milestone one in FOCUS), you'll see an Ask a Priority Question option. Click it to turn your question into highlighted green text. When the floor opens for Q&A — or when you need the speaker's attention — these flagged questions get prioritized as the team works through the chat.

If you don't see this option, this means you're on the monthly membership and haven't yet reached milestone one.

Browse the members list
Click the members tucked in the corner to open the members list. Search by name or scroll the attendees. For each member you can send a friend request, report them, or open their profile preview — and the eye icon is a shortcut straight to the profile preview, where you can also send a friend request

Expand a screen share
To make whatever's being shared bigger, click the full-screen icon to move it to full screen.

➡️ What Happens Next?

Once you're settled in, you can follow along with the speaker, drop questions or links into the chat, and connect with other attendees through the members list. When Q&A opens, any priority questions you've flagged will be surfaced first. The dock tucks away again whenever you stop interacting — just move or tap to bring it back.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

I entered the livestream room but nothing is happening?
If you enter the livestream room before an event as officially started you'll be in the 'waiting room' showing the Event Card of the upcoming event. Once an Admin has started the event, you'll automatically be routed into the livestream room.

Why don't I see the Ask a Priority Question option?
That feature is limited to alumni, all-access, and startup monthly members who've reached milestone one in FOCUS. If you don't see it, you're on the monthly membership or haven't hit milestone one yet. You can still add to the chat at any time.

What does a priority question actually do?
It turns your question green so it stands out. When the floor opens for Q&A or you need the speaker's attention, flagged questions are prioritized as the team works through the chat.

Can I share links in the chat?
Yes. Anyone can add to the chat at any time, including links to vistas in OASIS and groups in PORTAL.

How do I add someone as a friend during an event?
Open the members list, find the member, and send a friend request — or use the eye icon to open their profile preview and add them from there.

Why are the controls hidden?
The dock only appears when you're interacting. Move your cursor or tap your screen to bring it back.
