When configuring your shipping method, you can only:
You cannot do both.
Feature: Set your Manual Shipping Rates - this feature allows you to create and manage your shipping rates and corresponding conditions and ship the orders.
Feature: Use a Third-Party Shipping Service plugin - this feature allows you to configure and activate a shipping service plugin to manage shipping orders for you.
Important: If your product is likely to attract customs duty, please indicate clearly in the product description if a separate charge will be invoiced directly to the buyer from customs or is included as part of shipping.
Using Manual Shipping Rates
There are two types of manual shipping profiles – Order Level and Item Level.
Order Level Shipping:
This is a default profile that cannot be deleted but can be edited.
This profile is automatically linked to new products that you add unless you have created custom Item Level Shipping profiles to choose from instead.
This profile applies one shipping rate for different products within a single order.
The profile can have conditions applied to limit the total weight and/or price shipped at a set rate.
Only one Order Level Shipping profile can exist (the current default profile), all other custom profiles that you create will be Item Level Shipping profiles.
Item Level Shipping:
These are additional profiles that can be added by you.
Item Level Shipping profiles must be manually linked to a product to override the default Order Level shipping profile.
A product can only be linked to one shipping profile at a time.
An Item Level Shipping profile applies defined shipping rates to a unique product (but not the product quantity).
These profiles can have conditions applied to limit the total weight and/or price shipped at a set rate.
Shipping profiles can either:
Be linked to a product you are going to add/have already added.
Have products added to the profile in the Shipping Profiles module.
Tip: If you want to link a custom shipping profile to a product you are going to add, you need to create the custom profile first.
Tip: If you want to add products to a custom shipping profile, you need to add your products and product inventory first.
Important: If you have not created custom shipping profiles, the default Order Level Shipping profile is the only profile available and is automatically linked to products.
The manage your shipping rates article shows how to edit the existing Order Level or create additional Item Level shipping profiles.
Using a third-party shipping service plugin
If you prefer to use a shipping company to manage your shipping for you, you must activate and configure a third-party shipping service plugin.
Using a shipping service will remove the option to set manual shipping rates.

Note: Watersorted cannot provide information about how to use a third-party shipping service other than activating and configuring the plugin and applying the service's rates to orders.
