If your school or district uses both HMH Ed and Google Classroom, we recommend choosing to use either Ed rosters or Google Classroom rosters, not both.

❗️Note: You may have already imported both rosters when you logged into Writable for the first time!

Choosing one source for your rosters helps to prevent duplicate assignments and avoids confusion for students. To help you decide whether to use Ed or Google Classroom, consider these two questions:

1. Where do students typically access their assignments?

2. Do you want Writable assignment grades to be synced to your gradebook?

  • If students access most assignments through Google Classroom, and you would like to sync grades to your Google Classroom gradebook, follow these steps to use your Google Classroom classes.

  • If students access HMH Ed for their assignments, but you would still like to sync grades to your Google Classroom gradebook, click here to use your Google Classroom classes.

  • If students access HMH Ed for their assignments, and you do not use the Google Classroom gradebook, follow these directions to use your Ed classes.

Still not sure which to use? Check with your school or district Writable Admin or reach out to us at support@writable.com for more guidance.

Option 1: Use Google Classroom Classes

Check out these resources if your students access most assignments through Google Classroom, and you would like to sync grades to your Google Classroom gradebook. If students access assignments through HMH Ed, but you would still like grades to sync to a Google Classroom gradebook, we recommend these steps as well.

  • How do students find their Writable assignments?

    • Students will follow these steps to find their Writable assignments in Google Classroom

Note: If your students access assignments through HMH Ed, they will launch Writable from Ed to view their Writable assignments.

Option 2: Use HMH Ed Classes

Check out these resources if your students access most assignments through HMH Ed, and you do not want Writable grades to sync to a gradebook.

  • How do students find their Writable assignments?

    • Students will log into HMH Ed and follow these directions to launch Writable and view their Writable assignments.

Note: At this time individual Writable assignments do not show in Ed. Students must launch into Writable to view and complete their writing assignments.
