Tips for browsers and devices to minimize technical issues

Updated over 2 weeks ago

To ensure the best experience on the Acuity Insights website, please follow these browser and device guidelines.

Browser Requirements

  • Use a Desktop or Laptop: Your Acuity Insights Assessments must be completed using a desktop or laptop computer.

  • Use the Latest Version of Chrome or Firefox: Download the latest versions of Chrome or Firefox.

  • Unsupported Browsers: Browsers like Safari or Microsoft Edge are not supported and may not work properly with assessments or tools like the System Requirements Check and test reservation.

Browser Troubleshooting Tips

  • If one browser doesn’t work (e.g., Chrome), try the other (e.g., Firefox).

  • Disable browser extensions or VPNs as they may block some website features.

  • If you're on a school or work network, network restrictions may interfere with parts of the site (like Casper, Snapshot, or Duet). Try switching to a different network. Check your internet speed (You need a high speed internet connection with a bitrate of at least 1.5 Mbps)

  • Use Incognito/Private Mode to avoid issues caused by stored cache or cookies:

    • Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N (Windows) or ⌘ + Shift + N (Mac)

    • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P (Windows) or ⌘ + Shift + P (Mac)

Device Compatibility Tips

  • Mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets (like iPads) are not supported.

  • 2-in-1/hybrid laptops (like Microsoft Surface) may work, but users often experience webcam issues when taking Casper.

    • If your device has both a front and rear camera, use Firefox for Casper.
