Primary Role: Business Administrators (BA)
Learning Focus: Apply

Where: Admin Portal

🧭Before You Start (Important)

  • Bulk updates apply immediately to live user accounts

  • Bulk updates are FULL REPLACE per field

  • Leave a field blank to preserve existing values

🎯Why It Matters

  • Saves time when updating many users

  • High risk if incorrect values are applied - Bulk Updates are FULL REPLACE

  • Changes affect live user accounts

⏱️When to Do This

  • Updating the same field(s) across multiple users

  • Making standardized changes (e.g., language, roles, supervisor)

📝What Can Be Updated in Bulk

  • Supervisor

  • Preferred Language (IETF language setting e.g., en-US, fr-FR)

  • Phone Number

  • Roles (ADMIN and/or TECH)

  • Special Rights (where permitted)

  • User Tags (key:value)

  • Status (Active / Inactive)

Only fields entered in the bulk update form are changed.

🛠️Steps

  1. Open the User Management tab in the ANVL Admin Portal.

  2. Filter or search to locate the users.

  3. Select the checkbox next to each user to update.

  4. Select Bulk Update Users

  5. Enter values for the fields you want to update

    1. Supervisor

      • Enter the Supervisor’s User ID (UUID)

      • Do not enter the supervisor’s name or email

      • 👉 See Find a User ID (UUID) for help locating this value

    2. Phone Number

      • Enter numbers only

      • Do not include spaces, dashes, parentheses, or special characters

    3. User Tags

      • Use the format: tag:value

      • Example: Job Title:Foreman

      • Multiple tags must be entered as comma-separated tag:value pairs

  6. Leave fields blank to keep existing values

  7. Select Update

  8. Wait for the updates to process. You will see a small window for each user pop up in the right-hand corner. Wait for the pop-ups to stop.

  9. Verify changes were successful in the Successful Submissions table.
Follow the steps in Verify User Update Results & Resolve Errors

  10. Click Refresh or refresh the browser page.

  11. Confirm changes were successful

What You Should See

  • Updated field value reflected directly in the table

  • User access and assignments updated as expected

⚠️Watch Out For…

  • This is a FULL REPLACE per field (entered values overwrite existing ones)

  • Supervisor updates must follow Group membership rules

  • Always review success and error results
