Crew Notes is designed to make it easy for office staff to access updates from the move day without the need to follow up with crew members directly. This feature allows Crew Leads (and Helpers if permitted) to quickly log notes that appear instantly for office staff, enabling streamlined communication and real-time visibility.
Why We Built Crew Notes
With Chariot, we want to ensure that it’s simple for office staff to know what happened on a move day, removing the need to wait for follow-ups. Crew Notes gives crews an easy way to log important details, incidents, or updates directly in the app, which then appear automatically in the office’s Results tab.
How Crew Notes Works
1. Accessing Crew Notes
Who Can Log Notes: By default, only Crew Leads can log notes for a move. However, if your team needs Helpers to have this ability, permissions can be customized on a per-user or role basis.
Office Visibility: Once logged, Crew Notes appear instantly on the office’s Results tab for that move, making updates immediately visible to office personnel.
2. Adding a Note
Crew Leads can access the “Crew Notes” section in the mover experience within the Chariot app.
Notes are text-only and are automatically timestamped when saved.
3. Timestamp Details
Each note includes a timestamp with the crew member’s name, the exact date, and the time it was added. This makes it easy for office staff to track updates chronologically and by team members.
4. Editing and Deleting Notes
Once a note is saved, it is permanent. Crew Leads or Helpers cannot edit or delete notes once they have been added, ensuring a secure and traceable record of the move day.
5. Notifications
Currently, there are no automated notifications sent to office staff when a note is added. To see Crew Notes, staff can simply view the Results tab for the relevant move.
Additional Information
• Photos and Media: Although Crew Notes are text-only, Crew Leads can still add photos or other files in the Photos section of the mover experience for additional visual context.
• Customizing Access: If you want Helpers or additional crew roles to have access to log Crew Notes, reach out to your account administrator or contact Chariot support.
