How to Add and Edit Trucks in Chariot

Add new trucks to your Chariot account, update truck details, and manage how they appear on the job schedule.

Your trucks in Chariot are used for job scheduling, dispatch, and crew assignment. Here's how to add new trucks, update existing ones, and manage how they appear on the schedule.

Adding a new truck

  1. Go to Settings > Trucks

  2. Click Add Truck

  3. Enter the truck name (this is what appears on the schedule and dispatch)

  4. Add any additional details — size, capacity, notes

  5. Save. The truck will now be available to assign to jobs.

Editing an existing truck

  1. Go to Settings > Trucks

  2. Click the truck you want to edit

  3. Update the name or details

  4. Save your changes

Deactivating a truck

If a truck is out of service or no longer active, you can deactivate it so it no longer shows up in scheduling. Deactivated trucks don't appear in the dispatch dropdown — they can be reactivated later if needed.

Truck names vs. track labels on the schedule

Trucks and schedule tracks are related but separate. Your trucks show up as options when dispatching a job. The track labels on the schedule (Track 1, Track 2, etc.) are separate labels that can be customized — to rename them to match your truck names or team names, contact support and we'll update them for you.

Assigning trucks to jobs

You can assign a truck to a job from the dispatch tab on the job page or by dragging the job into a track on the schedule. See Dispatching in Chariot for details.
