Dispatch tracks on the job schedule represent your lanes of work — each track typically corresponds to a truck or crew. Here's how to manage, clear, and reset them when needed.
What are tracks?
Tracks are the vertical columns on your job schedule. Each track holds the jobs assigned to a specific truck or crew for the day. The number of tracks visible depends on how many trucks you have configured — by default, Chariot shows Track 1 through Track 5.
Removing a job from a track
To move a job off a track:
Go to the Job Schedule
Find the job on the track you want to clear
Click the job to open it, then update the stage to "canceled"
This action will remove the job from the track.
Hiding a track from view
If you don't need all tracks visible (e.g., you only run 3 trucks), you can hide unused tracks to keep the schedule clean. Look for the track visibility controls on the schedule page — toggling a track off hides it from view without deleting any jobs.
To hide or remove a track, click on the three dots under the track name, then click on the trash icon.
Renaming tracks
Track labels (Track 1, Track 2, etc.) can be customized — for example, to show your truck names or team names instead.
You can update your track names by navigating to Settings, then to the Scheduling, Dispatching, and Crew Management tab, and locating the setting called Track List. Here you can reorder your tracks, update the names of your tracks, or add a new track accordingly.
Troubleshooting: A job won't move off a track
If a job appears stuck on a track and you can't reassign or remove it:
Try refreshing the page — sometimes the schedule needs a reload to reflect recent changes
Open the job directly and remove the truck/crew assignment from the job page instead of the schedule view
If neither works, contact support with the job number
