Infraredi devices use visible red light, near-infrared light or a combination of both.
Red light
Red light is visible to the human eye and is absorbed mainly by tissue closer to the skin’s surface. It is commonly used to support skin health, collagen production and cellular recovery.
Near-infrared light
Near-infrared light is not visible to the human eye. It penetrates more deeply than visible red light and is commonly used to support increased blood flow, temporary relief of pain and inflammation, and muscle recovery.
Which setting should I use?
For most general sessions, red and near-infrared light can be used together. If your device includes a Presets menu, you can select the treatment goal and the device will automatically apply the appropriate settings.
The exact wavelengths, controls and presets differ between Infraredi products. Follow the instructions for your specific device.
