The live campaign brief is your checklist for the work. Read it before applying, and read it again after you are hired because additional instructions or files may become available.
Before you apply
Open the campaign and read the full page—not only its card or title. Check that you can meet the content requirements and practical logistics. Ask for clarification through Purple Cow if something essential is missing.
Your filming checklist
Campaign type: are you delivering a video file, posting on your own channel, or both as explicitly required?
Content: what should you show, say, demonstrate, or avoid?
Format: check the platform, duration, aspect ratio, language, and any required on-camera appearance.
Creative direction: review the hook, key messages, references, and style. Distinguish mandatory requirements from suggestions.
Brand and product: confirm the correct offering, product details, and available guidelines.
Logistics: check shipment, purchase, digital access, or visit instructions as applicable.
Timing: use the deadline and required actions shown for your own confirmed work.
Files: open the relevant attachments before filming.
Some details appear only after hire
Businesses can make certain links, guidelines, product details, and files available only after a confirmed hire. Not seeing them while browsing does not necessarily mean the campaign is broken.
An application, invitation, or accepted invitation is not a confirmed hire. Do not start filming based on those stages alone. See Applications, Invitations, and Confirmed Hires.
After you are hired
Open the campaign workspace and review the brief again, including newly available access instructions and attachments. Keep questions and agreed clarifications in the workspace so both sides have the same record.
If the brief is unclear or contradictory
Ask one specific question before filming the affected part. For example: “The brief asks for a vertical video, but the reference is horizontal. Which format should I deliver?” Do not guess, silently change the scope, or copy a reference video as if it were your original work.
Before submitting
Watch the final file from beginning to end and compare it with the brief. Check the sound, framing, required shots, text, and any posting instructions. Submit through the correct campaign deliverable flow, not as a portfolio upload or social-media DM.
If a missing product, access problem, or technical error threatens the deadline, report it promptly. The issue does not automatically extend the deadline.
