Create a Campaign: Step-by-Step

A complete business guide to setting up and launching a clear campaign on Purple Cow without missing key requirements.

Written by Purple Cow Support

Use a Business account to create a campaign. Prepare the brand or product, the goal, the content you need, and how creators will access the product or service.

1. Start your campaign

Sign in at app.pcow.io. Open Campaigns or your dashboard and choose Create campaign. The form has two stages: Campaign and Content and requirements.

Give the campaign a clear name that will help you identify it later.

2. Choose the brand and focus

Select the correct brand. Use Add brand if it has not been added yet. Choose whether creators should promote the brand itself or a specific product, service, app, or offer. If you choose a specific offering, select the relevant product and check its details.

3. Select the campaign type

  • UGC Content: you need creator-made video files for the business to use.

  • Influencer Posting: you need creators to publish on their channels according to the campaign requirements.

AI Studio is a separate flow, not a third option in this campaign form. Read Choose the Right Campaign Type if you are unsure.

4. Check access and logistics

Confirm how the creator will get what they need: shipment, purchase, digital access, or an on-site visit, as applicable. Review any route-specific instructions and locations shown in the form. Do not leave a physical-product delivery instruction on a digital-service campaign by mistake.

5. Complete Content and requirements

Continue to the second stage and complete the required fields shown for your campaign type. Check:

  • The relevant platform, video format, and language.

  • What the creator must show, say, and deliver.

  • The brief, creative direction, references, and any restrictions.

  • Creator requirements and practical logistics.

  • Posting instructions where the creator is expected to publish.

Use concrete instructions instead of “make a great video.” Separate essential requirements from creative preferences. Do not include passwords or private access codes in a publicly visible brief.

6. Review and publish

Read the review summary carefully. Make sure the campaign type, brief, product, format, and logistics agree. Remove placeholders and outdated links. Review account-specific costs and terms inside your signed-in account before confirming.

Use Save Draft if you are not ready. When the required information is complete, use the publish action shown in the form and check the resulting campaign status.

7. Review creators and confirm each hire

Open the campaign to review applicants or invite suitable creators. An application or accepted invitation does not start the work by itself. Complete the hire through Purple Cow, then manage instructions and delivery in the creator’s campaign workspace.

Can’t continue or publish?

Check the highlighted required fields first. If the page still blocks you, contact support with the stage, the field name, and the exact error. Do not repeatedly publish if you are unsure whether the previous attempt succeeded.
