Short answer: .de domains can't currently be registered through Maildoso. You can still use .de domains with us — register them yourself at a registrar that supports .de, then connect them as external domains.
Why .de isn't available to register
Since September 2026, the .de registry requires KYC (identity verification) of the domain registrant. Maildoso doesn't currently support that verification step, so .de has been removed from the list of extensions we can register on your behalf.
In practice this means:
.de domains won't appear in domain search in your dashboard, and the search will return no results for them.
Registration attempts through the dashboard or the API are declined.
This is a registration restriction only — it is not a limitation on using .de domains with Maildoso.
How to use a .de domain with Maildoso
Externally owned .de domains are fully supported. The steps are:
Register the .de domain yourself at any registrar that supports .de, completing that registrar's KYC check directly with them.
In your Maildoso dashboard, go to the Domains page and choose Connect existing domain.
We'll give you two nameservers to set at your registrar. Set only those two — nothing else.
Once the nameservers propagate, you can create mailboxes on the domain exactly as you would on any other domain.
For the full walkthrough, see Can I bring my own domains or domains I purchased already?
Note that pointing a domain's nameservers to Maildoso will stop any existing services on that domain, such as a website or existing email, so use a domain that isn't already in use elsewhere.
What about .de domains already connected?
Nothing changes for them. Only new registration through Maildoso is affected — .de domains already on your account keep working normally.
I already bought domain slots for .de domains
Contact support. You can either use those slots for a different extension, or we'll review the purchase with you. Domain slots are not lost because a particular extension turned out to be unavailable.
This is not the same as the verification message after signup
If you're seeing a verification notice on your own account after signing up, that's a separate, routine new-customer check and is unrelated to .de. See Why am I seeing a verification message after signing up?
Other extensions
Availability can change when a registry changes its rules. If an extension you want doesn't appear in domain search, contact us and we'll confirm whether it can be registered or whether you'll need to bring it yourself.
