How does the Trev + Figured integration work?

How to sync my data to Figured?

Once you’ve connected a farm to Figured and there are livestock events to sync, click the Manage Data button. Here you’ll be presented with a list of livestock events for this farm and their sync status.

You can either choose to:

  • Sync All events - this is a full re-sync which also refreshes any already successfully synchronised events.

  • Sync Selected events - use the checkboxes to the right hand side of each livestock event to choose which specific events to synchronise.

Tip: there’s also an Activity Log tab on the Manage Data page that provides visibility of the data that has been transmitted (by who and when) along with changes to connection settings.

What’s the difference between Manual sync and Auto Sync?

You can choose one of two ways for your Trev data to synchronise with Figured.

  1. Manual Sync - this is the default setting for a farm connection and provides the option to review data and selectively synchronise data with Figured. This might be a good option if you have an organisation where you have a central or administrative role that you would like to eyeball the data before it is pushed through to Figured.

  2. Auto Sync - select this option if your preference is for a seamless transfer of data from Trev to Figured. By turning on Auto Sync any livestock events created or edited for a farm will automatically be sent through to Figured. Please be aware that any events created by Trev users with Reporter or Editor access for a farm in Trev will be transmitted to Figured so do ensure that the right people have access to your farm in Trev.

Please note, the first time you set up a farm connection we’ll ask you to manually push any livestock events (dated after your Sync From Date) which will include the Opening Livestock Numbers that we’ve calculated for your farm as at the Sync From Date. Also, if your Opening Livestock Numbers are updated or need to be recalculated we will ask you to manually sync these Opening Numbers so that you confirm the change.

What does the Sync from date mean?

You’ll be able to choose the point in time that you wish livestock events in Trev to flow into Figured. When you first set up a farm connection, the Sync From Date will default to today’s date. You can adjust this date should you wish to.

If you change the Sync From Date to an earlier date, the Manage Data table will be updated with:

  • Any livestock events that fell between the new and the previous Sync From Date which are now available for you to synchronise with Figured.

  • New opening livestock numbers as at the new Sync From Date for you to synchronise with Figured.

If you change the Sync From Date to a later date, the Manage Data table will be updated with:

  • Any livestock events that fell between the previous and the new Sync From Date (which had previously been synchronised with Figured) for you to re-sync and remove from Figured.

  • New opening livestock numbers as at the new Sync From Date for you to synchronise with Figured.

Note: If you edit an event in Trev prior to the Sync From Date will trigger the recalculation of opening livestock numbers in Trev. The revised opening livestock number event(s) will appear in the Manage Data screen (with a blue ! icon) for you to review. By re-syncing this event it will update accordingly in Figured.

What happens when you edit or delete an event in Trev?

If a livestock event has been updated in Trev and this event has already been synchronised with Figured, the revised event will appear in the Manage Data screen (with a blue ! icon) for you to review. By re-syncing this event it will update accordingly in Figured.

If a livestock event has been removed in Trev and the event has already been synchronised with Figured, the original event will appear in the Manage Data screen (with an orange ! icon) for you to review. By re-syncing this event it will remove it from Figured as well as the Manage Data screen in Trev. If the event was deleted before it was ever synchronised with Figured, it will simply be removed from the Manage Data screen.
