Overview
When switching a property’s showing method in RentEngine—such as moving from accompanied to self-guided, or vice versa—it’s important to follow the correct steps.
Updating the showing type without preparation can disrupt existing appointments or confuse prospects.
Before you begin
Identify any scheduled showings for the property
Plan to cancel and reschedule those showings
Communicate clearly with affected prospects
Step 1 — Cancel existing showings
Open the Showings calendar
Find all scheduled showings for the property
Tip: You can skip sending SMS notifications during cancellation to avoid unnecessary alerts.
Canceling showings ensures no prospect receives outdated instructions.
Step 2 — Update the showing method
Go to Properties
Select the property
Click Take action → Edit property
Navigate to Step 2 (Showing setup)
Change the showing method to the new option:
Click Next to save changes
Step 3 — Reschedule showings
Open the Command Center
Locate each affected prospect
Click Action → Schedule showing
Assign a new time based on the updated showing method
Let prospects know to follow the instructions in the most recent message they receive from RentEngine.
