Create a custom package (Admin Panel)

Learn how to create a custom package that combines multiple treatments into a single offering with one price, helping patients achieve specific goals through your app.

Overview

This article shows you how to create a custom package in your Admin Panel. It is designed for practice owners, managers, and admins who want to bundle multiple treatments into a single package to address a specific goal, area, or outcome for patients.

Before You Start

  • You must have Admin access with one of the following roles: Marketing, Manager, or Administrator.

  • Packages live under Catalog → Services → Packages.

  • A package includes multiple different treatments sold together for one price.

  • Packages use a single price per package, not per included treatment.

  • Have your service menu ready if you plan to use AI extraction, or know which treatments and quantities to include if building from scratch.

Why It Matters

Custom packages help you:

  • Increase average order value by bundling complementary treatments patients want together.

  • Communicate outcomes, not SKUs with names like “Skin Rejuvenation” instead of “Facial + Peel + LED.”

  • Simplify patient decisions with one price and one purchase flow in the app.

  • Target concerns and body areas so packages surface in browse and search for the right patients.

How It Works

Draft vs. Active: All packages start as Draft until you publish. Click Save Package to publish as Active and make the package available in the patient app.

Single price: Each package has one price for the entire bundle. Packages do not use bundled pricing logic or per-treatment line-item pricing in the shop.

Included treatments: You add each treatment with a quantity. Patients purchase the package as a unit and redeem included treatments according to your redemption rules.

Discovery: Packages are filtered by concerns and body areas in browse and search. They do not appear as upsells under individual treatment pages.

AI menu upload: When you upload a menu in Catalog → Services, the AI extracts package drafts only when the uploaded content clearly describes a bundled offering with multiple distinct treatments or modalities.

Edits and archive: Packages can be edited after publish; edits affect future purchases only. Archiving hides a package from the app without affecting packages patients already purchased. See Edit a package (Admin Panel) and Archive treatments and packages (Admin Panel).

Step-by-Step Instructions

Upload your menu (recommended)

If your service menu includes bundled offerings, upload it in Catalog → Services first. The AI extracts package drafts when uploaded content clearly describes a bundled offering with multiple distinct treatments or modalities, for example: “Glow Package: includes facial, LED, and peel.”

When a package is extracted, the uploader pre-fills:

  • Name

  • Description

  • Price

  • Concern tags

  • Body area tags

  • Images

After the draft is created, verify included treatments and quantities, set locations and max quantity, and add optional content before publishing.

Creating from scratch? Go to Catalog → Services → Packages and click + Create new package in the bottom right corner of the list.

Add package details

  1. Confirm the package name. This is what patients see in your app. Use an outcome-focused name that tells patients what they will achieve.

  2. Set locations. Choose All Locations or specific locations. The uploader does not fill this in.

  3. Verify the price. Packages use a single price for the whole bundle. Confirm it matches your current pricing.

  4. Set the maximum quantity. This is the maximum number of packages a patient can purchase in one transaction.

Add images and description

  1. Review the image. Replace AI-assigned images with practice photos or branded creative if needed.

  2. Review the description. Confirm what is included and who the package is for. Patients read this before purchasing.

Set concerns and body areas

  1. Review and adjust concerns. These help patients find your package while browsing. Custom concerns cannot be added at this time.

  2. Review and adjust body areas. Confirm the body areas this package targets.

Configure included treatments

  1. Click Select Treatment.

  2. Search for and select a treatment from the list.

  3. Enter the quantity included in the package.

  4. Click Save treatment.

  5. Repeat to add additional treatments.

Add a package-only item (optional)

If you want to include something that should not appear in your shop (such as retail credit or a gift with purchase):

  1. Click Select Treatment, then choose + Create a new treatment.

  2. Enter the required details.

  3. Click Save and add to package treatments.

This creates a package-only item that patients receive as part of the bundle but do not see as a standalone shop listing.

Add pre- and post-care instructions (optional)

  1. Toggle Pre & Post-Care Instructions to On.

  2. Click Add treatment instructions.

  3. Enter an Instruction Name (for example, “Before Your Appointment”).

  4. Add the Instruction Description.

  5. Click Save treatment instruction.

  6. Repeat as needed.

Pre- and post-care instructions are package-level only and appear both before and after purchase in the app.

Publish the package

  1. Review all details.

  2. Click Save Package.

The package publishes as Active and is immediately available in your patient app.

Best Practices and Pro Tips

  • Name for outcomes. “Skin Rejuvenation” converts better than a raw list of treatment names.

  • Verify AI drafts manually. AI extraction is a starting point. Confirm treatments, quantities, price, and locations before publishing.

  • Set max quantity intentionally. Use it to prevent bulk purchases that do not fit your clinical workflow.

  • Use concerns and body areas. They are the primary discovery path for packages.

  • Add pre/post-care when instructions matter. Patients see them on the package page and in their account after purchase.

Common Mistakes and FAQs

Q: Can I edit a package after it is published?

A: Yes. See Edit a package (Admin Panel). Edits affect future purchases only.

Q: Does editing a package affect existing purchases?

A: No. Edits only affect future purchases. Major changes to a purchased package may require archiving and creating a new version.

Q: Can packages be discounted or bundled like treatments?

A: No. Packages have one set price and do not use bundled pricing logic.

Q: Where do patients see pre- and post-care instructions?

A: On the package page before purchase and in the patient’s account after purchase.

Q: Can I limit how many packages a patient buys at once?

A: Yes. Set maximum quantity per purchase in package details.

Q: Will my package appear as an upsell on a treatment page?

A: No. Packages are discoverable through search and browse by concerns and body areas, not as treatment-page upsells.
