What's happening:
The Unique Individuals Demographic Report is showing a different count than expected.
Possible solutions:
Criteria for a New Client
An Individual is considered a New Client in the Unique Individuals Demographics Report if their earliest Service File open date is on or after the Period start date and on or before the Period end date. Running this report on New Clients will not include ALL clients enrolled in a specific service, just ones enrolled during the time period selected, so it would likely be expected that the numbers will differ from time period to time period.
The Report provides an unduplicated count
When looking at results in the Service search tab, it's possible for an Individual to be counted multiple times depending on how many Service Files they're enrolled in, whereas the Unique Individuals Demographics Report will always give an unduplicated count, resulting in a lower count than the Service search tab even with parameters similar to the Report selected.
An End date for an open Service File
The Service search tab results will include a Service File that is open but has a date in the End date, whereas the Unique Individuals Demographics Report will not. If a Service File was closed and then reopened, the date it was closed will stay in the End date field (unless manually removed) and this file won't be counted in the Unique Individuals Demographics depending on what is entered in the Period fields.
Similar things can happen if a Service File is created with the Start field in the future. It will show up in the search tab as the Service File is technically in the Open status, but it will not show up in the report with the dates set to "today" as it doesn't fit in these dates.
It's possible to track down any open Service Files that have an End date set by running the Opened/Closed Service File Report with Open selected for "Report on" and check the End column for dates. One open Service Files with End dates have been identified, they can be navigated to, edited, and the End dates manually removed.
