Create your shop and set-up your shopfront in 10 minutes

Once you've registered and verified your email the first thing you need to do as a seller on watersorted is create your shop. The process for doing this is the same whether you simply want a free shopfront or whether you want to add and sell products/services.

Log in and access the seller dashboard

Once you have logged in you can access the seller functions via the your username and user icon:

Select dashboard:


Go to Subscription Packages and select the plan you want

Note: If you've already selected your subscription package then skip this step. When selecting the package you can select the Free Plan if you just want to have a shopfront. Learn more about our subscription packages here.


Click on Create Shop button

On the seller dashboard locate the Create Shop button and click on it.


Complete The General Tab

As a minimum you need to complete all the mandatory fields and press Save Changes.

Identifier*

Is a unique code that identifies your shop in our database. It can be the same as your shop name (entered on the Details tab).

Demo Biz

Shop SEO-friendly URL*

The webpage title for your shop on watersorted.

A link to your website which will be displayed on your shopfront. Note you have to use the full URL.

Phone

Phone number that will be displayed on your shopfront.

Country*

The country where your business is based. This can only be New Zealand at the moment.

Postal Code

Enter postal code of your business (head office if more than one location) for geolocation.

Shop display status

This must be set to ON if you want your shop to display on watersorted.

How much time you need between receiving an order and the order being ready for pick-up.

Fulfillment method*

Select your fulfillment option e.g Ship Only or Ship & Pickup. Note you have to add a Pick-Up Address under the Pick-Up Address tab for this option to be become visible here.

Use manual shipping rates, instead of third party rates

When toggled on you can configure shipping rates manually rather than use a shipping plug-in.

Select based on requirements

Enable RFQ module

When toggled on the Request for quote option (i.e. not displaying pricing) will be available for all products/services in your inventory.

Select categories*

The categories you selected during sign-up will be pre-selected. You can add more as required. There are over 400 categories, start typing to see the list get populated.

Information to be added to invoices

You can add Tax Invoice, your GST number and NZBN if you wished to use our invoicing capabilities. Leave blank if you wish to use your own invoicing system.

Warning: You must press Save Changes once you're done.


Complete The Details Tab

As a minimum you need to complete all the mandatory fields and press Save Changes.

Warning: You must press Save Changes once you're done.


Complete the Media Tab

You can add a banner picture which will display on your shopfront.

You have the option to upload an image for Desktop, Ipad and Mobile. Images must be <8MB and have the following sizing requirements:

  • Desktop - 2048 x 512

  • Ipad - 1024 x 576

  • Mobile - 640 x 640

Tip: Matching the sizing requirements mean that your image will look great on all devices. Note that if you do not load up a mobile image then nothing will display on mobile. If you have any problems with sizing images - reach out to our support team at support@watersorted.com for help.

You also need to add your logo here. If you can choose the 1:1 size ratio with a size of 500 x 500 since this will show up best on our shop listing page. If your logo is long and skinny you can use the 16:9 ratio but note this will look quite small on the shop listing page.

Compete the Social Platforms Tab

You can add any links to your social media platforms like Linkedin, Facebook, Youtube, Instagram etc. Copy the links from your page on the relevant platform and paste it in to the URL field. We have more detail on this here.


That's it! View your shopfront

And you are done. Visit your shopfront by heading back to the seller dashboard.

Then you can access your shop via your user icon:


The Other Tabs

Pickup Address - you can add an address for pick-ups.

Stripe Connect - If you want to use our credit/debit card payment gateway then you have to complete the Stripe Connect registration and business verification. You can do this even if you don't want to use the card payment gateway if you want to gain buyer trust and get our green tick. We have an article about this here.

Collections - You can group products and services you list in to collections e.g. you might have a dosing pump collection. This can make your products easier to find. We have an article about this here.


The Next Step(s)

If you just wanted to list your business then you are done.

However, if you want to add products and/or services to your shop then we recommend setting up a few more things before we get into that:

  1. Define your product/service options - e.g., different sizes of the same product.

  2. Manage tax categories - review the tax categories provided and edit if required.

  3. Determine your shipping method - learn about the available shipping options.
