Getting started - create your shop

Start setting up your shop on watersorted

Updated over 4 months ago

Tip: Set up your shop first. You can't add products/services or product/service inventory until this is done.

Log into your account and open the Seller dashboard. From here, you can begin setting up your shop by either:

  1. Clicking the button on the top RH corner. (this button will only be available when you create your shop for the first time)

  2. Alternatively, from the LH menu, select Shop>Manage Shop (once your shop has been created, this will be the only way you can navigate to your shop).

Configuring the Shop form

Both these options will open the Shop Details - Shop form. To configure your shop, the following tabs need to be completed:

  1. General – configure this tab first

  2. Details - configure this tab second

  3. Stripe Connect - configure this tab third

Important: If you want to list products/services on your shop or respond to RFQs then you need to complete the Stripe Connect set up. If you only wish to have a shopfront (i.e. a business listing) then you do not need to complete the Stripe Connect set up.

The rest of the following tabs can be completed in any order:

  1. Collections - this tab is explained when adding inventory to your shop

Important: You can only create Product/Service Collections after you have added product/service inventory to your shop.

Additional settings to finish setting up your shop

Once you have configured your Shop form, there are some additional settings we recommend completing before adding any products/services:

  1. Define your product/service options - e.g., different sizes of the same product.

  2. Manage tax categories - review the tax categories provided and edit if required.

  3. Determine your shipping method - learn about the available shipping options.

If you are not sure how the payments work on watersorted when you sell a product/service, check out the Payment flows article for more information.
