What is Barti eFax, and how do I get started?

Barti eFax is a HIPAA-compliant cloud fax service powered by Kno2. Send faxes from inside Barti or the Kno2 dashboard at kno2.prod.barti.com; incoming faxes arrive under My Intake.

Who this is for: All Barti users who send or receive faxes. Setup tasks — adding users, configuring intake rules, managing contacts and organization settings — require Kno2 admin access.

Before you start, you'll need:

  • A Barti account with eFax enabled

  • A Kno2 login (admins create these for staff — see How do I add users to Kno2?)

  • Admin access if you'll be doing setup tasks

How Barti eFax works

Barti eFax is built on Kno2, a HIPAA-compliant cloud interoperability platform designed for healthcare. Instead of an analog fax machine, your clinic sends and receives faxes through a secure web dashboard, with full audit trails and integration with your Barti account.

There are two places you'll work with eFax:

  • Inside Barti — for sending outbound faxes directly from a patient record or order.

  • In the Kno2 dashboard (kno2.prod.barti.com) — for receiving incoming faxes, managing users, configuring rules, and reviewing fax activity.

The Kno2 dashboard auto-refreshes every 5 minutes and shows your recent fax activity, message statistics, and quick action buttons for setup tasks.

Troubleshooting

I'm a non-admin and I'm not getting email notifications for new faxes.

By default, only admins receive notifications. To get notified, your admin needs to add you to an Intake Rule. Ask them to follow the steps in How do I set up email notifications for new faxes?.

I logged into Kno2 but I don't see any faxes in My Intake.

You'll only see faxes assigned to you through an Intake Rule. If your inbox is empty, an admin may not have added you to a rule yet.

Where do I send fax issues that aren't covered here?

  • For Barti integration issues, create a Barti Support Ticket.

  • For questions specific to the Kno2 fax portal, contact Kno2 Support at support@kno2.com or visit the Kno2 Knowledge Base.
