Connect a Stripe S700 or S710 reader to your school's Bound account to use it with the Bound Gate and Payment App.
You get a three-word registration code from the reader, then enter that code in Bound.
Before you start, make sure the reader is turned on and charged.
Get a Registration Code
If your reader is new or has been reset, it walks you through setup on screen and displays a registration code. Skip to Add the Reader in Bound below.
If the reader shows a blue screen with the word Bound, or you need to re-pair it:
Tap the blue settings bar.
If you do not see the settings bar, swipe across the screen from the left side of the reader.
If the Bound Gate and Payment App is already open on the reader, tap the gear icon in the top right corner instead.
Enter the PIN 0-7-1-3-9.
Tap Generate pairing code.
The reader displays a three-word code separated by hyphens (for example, one-two-three).
Keep the code on screen and proceed to finish setup in Bound.
Add the Reader in Bound
In the school dashboard, click Business (the dollar sign icon) in the left sidebar.
Click Stripe.
Click the lightning bolt icon next to Bound Stripe Account (Connected).
The Stripe Terminal page opens on the Readers tab, which lists your school's locations and the readers attached to each.
Click Add Reader.
In Name, enter a name that identifies the reader, such as your school name, state, and a number (for example, Allison IA S700-1).
In Location, select the location that matches your reader. See Choose the Right Location below.
In Registration Code, enter the three-word code shown on the reader.
Click Save.
After you save, the Bound Gate and Payment App loads on the reader and installs any available update.
Choose the Right Location
The location you pick depends on your reader model and whether it will use cellular data. To check your model, turn the reader over: the model (S700 or S710) is listed under the serial number, and S710 readers also say "Cellular" on the back.
S700: Select the location that ends in "S700 Gate App."
S710 on WiFi only: Select your school's S710 location that does not begin with "Cellular."
S710 using cellular data: Select the location that begins with "Cellular."
NOTE: Any reader attached to a Cellular location is charged $10.00 per reader per month. The full $10.00 is charged even if the reader is on the Cellular location for a single day that month. Readers on S700 locations and Wi-Fi only S710 locations have no extra charge.
