Here's how to create a Buy Now, Start Later membership.
There are two membership scenarios (maybe more, but these seem to be the most popular):
A one-time purchase membership (PIF for X amount of time)
A buy the first month now (or first billing cycle if it's not monthly) and rolls into recurring payments after
One-Time Purchase
In Membership Setup, you're creating a payment plan that has a one-time fee but a $0 recurring price, which is set to end after the end of the billing cycle of your choosing:
Assign the membership to the future start date of your choosing:
Confirm the buy now, start later dates:
Recurring payment, first payment today but start in future
Create your membership with the one-time fee and recurring payments:
When assigning the membership, you're setting the future start date, but also a free trial to the SECOND billing cycle because they already paid for the first billing cycle:
When confirming, notice when the access starts, the fees paid today, and when the first recurring invoice will be billed:
