Content Usage, Posting, and Ownership Requirements

How businesses should define content use, creator posting, and approval expectations in a Purple Cow campaign.

Written by Purple Cow Support

Check the campaign type and current platform terms before creating, posting, editing, or reusing content. A video file and a post on a creator’s account are different deliverables.

Choose the correct output

  • UGC Content: the creator delivers a video file for the business.

  • Influencer Posting: the creator posts on the channel required by the campaign.

  • AI Studio: AI-produced video is ordered through a separate business flow.

See Choose the Right Campaign Type. Do not add an unexpected posting obligation to a file-delivery campaign.

Define the posting requirements

For a campaign that includes posting, make the agreed requirements clear in the brief:

  • The social platform, account, and post format.

  • The approved content and the step required before publishing.

  • The posting window and any stated availability period.

  • Required tags, mentions, captions, links, and disclosures.

  • Any confirmation or evidence of posting requested by the platform.

Creators should not publish early just because a file was uploaded. Businesses should not ask a creator to hide a required disclosure or make a misleading claim.

Use material you are permitted to use

Only supply or include logos, music, images, footage, scripts, and other assets that you have permission to use for the intended purpose. Mark references as inspiration or mandatory requirements. A reference link is not permission to copy someone else’s work.

Ownership, editing, and reuse

Use the rights and conditions stated in the applicable Purple Cow terms and campaign. This article does not replace those terms or grant additional rights. If a planned edit, paid placement, repost, or other use is unclear, ask support before proceeding.

Do not misrepresent a creator, make deceptive edits, or reuse private campaign materials outside their authorized purpose.

Keep the final record

Keep the final approved version, brief, and relevant confirmations in the campaign workspace. If the required use changes, resolve it through Purple Cow before asking the creator to redo or republish the work.
