Signing in is the first step for a bidder to access your upcoming auction; while many will wait until the day of your event to access the auction, some of your bidders may want to log in beforehand and review how the online auctions process works
We've created a quick and helpful guide below to help your bidders understand how to sign into their auction for the first time, and how to use the "magic link" to log in moving forward.
Step 1: Have your bidders register for the auction, if they have not already.
If your bidders haven't yet registered, they should click on the option to "Join the Auction" on your Auctions page.
They can then enter their name, phone number, and email address in order to register themselves as a bidder.
They will also be prompted on this screen to select how they would like to be notified of certain updates to the auction (such as when the auction closes, if they have been outbid on an item, etc.)
Step 2: Log in using their "magic link."
Bidders should be able to log into their account by clicking on the "Log In" button on your Auctions page, then using the "magic link" provided to them once they enter either the phone number or email associated with their account. (They can also access this screen by clicking on the "Place Bid" option next to a specific item that they're interested in.
They will then be prompted to enter their email address or phone number to receive a “magic link”, which will quickly and securely log them back into the auction without having to enter their password.
The magic link is a secure link automatically sent to a bidder’s email or phone number (via text) that allows the participant to click and confirm their identity to log in, instead of having to enter their password. The link is sent to the email or phone number that the participant has associated with their bidder account, to make logging in and participating in the auction even easier.
Clicking the link will redirect your bidders to a page where they can re-enter their email or phone number; the system will then automatically verify that this information is correct and securely log your participants in to the auction.
They should then be able to click the green "Continue" button in order to access the auction and available items.
