If a bidder has selected "mobile" as one of their communication preferences when setting up their bidder account, they will receive notifications via text to let them know that they've been outbid on a particular item.
Of course, they may receive that message and decide they want to try to out-bid the previous bidder and reclaim that top bid - here's how they can do so directly from their phone.
Step 1: Reply to the text message notification that they've received
One of the nice things about that text notification that the bidder receives is that it will prompt them to reply to the message directly with a new "bid request."
Doing so will automatically place that bid request for them without having to log into the auction directly to finalize the bid.

As a note, this is only a function for bidders who are getting bid alerts through text messages. Bidders who only choose "email" as their communication preference will receive those notifications via email - but will not be able to bid via that email. Instead, they will always have to go to the auction site to place their next bid.
