Landing pages are customisable forms you can use for your creative marketing campaigns as a data collection tool. Landing pages can be used for:

  • Simple sign-up forms

  • Forever pre-save for artist music releases

  • Polls

  • Fan uploads

  • Where should we play?

  • Much more!

Through landing pages, you can collect essential data points for your future re-targeting campaigns. These include:

  • Email ID

  • Phone number

  • Name

  • Date of birth

  • Location

Note: If we already have a piece of fan data, intuitive auto-fill means we won't ask a fan for that data again when they visit another Openstage landing page.

The possibilities are endless, just like the number of landing pages you can make on Openstage!

Create a new Landing Page

Get started with your landing pages!

Head to - Engage > Landing Pages > On the top right of the panel select Create new landing page

You'll be prompted to choose the fan journey for your page - choosing a template here will automatically populate your page with the relevant steps.

Next, you'll be asked to add a background image - this can be skipped for now and added later in the Design Tab.

Finally, you'll be asked to give your page a title. This title will also generate the "tag" fans will receive for interacting with this page - we recommend using a title that clearly identifies the purpose of the landing page.

As an example, a page for signing up at a show in London could be called "London Show Summer 2025."

As you can see in the screenshot above, a short URL and Tag are automatically generated. The tag for this page can be used later to segment the audience and target only the fans that attended this show in London.

Once you hit save, your new landing page will be created!

Note: You can change or edit any of the page details later if you change your mind!

Fill out the details in the Journey tab

Create the page flow your fans will see - starting with their data entry.

Welcome Step

Customise your data collection.

First up is the Welcome Step - here you get to decide which data points you'd like to collect and choose the messaging for your page.

At least one form of fan ID is required - email address or phone number. Without one of these fan IDs, Openstage cannot create a fan.

If you have both selected, you can also choose which option should be presented to the fan first.

Heading/description - Put your call-to-action (CTA) here!

After the fan ID, any number of additional data points can be added and set as mandatory or optional:

  • Mandatory - Fan cannot pass without completing the field

  • Optional - Fan is given a button below the field to skip

Once all the data fields have been completed, the fan moves on to the next step in the flow!

Note: Remember to review this section from a fan point of view - think about their journey and ensure it's easy for the fan to follow!

Thanks Step

Final step of the landing page flow - end with a flourish!

Once a fan has signed up, it's only polite to say 'thank you!'

The generic Thanks Step provides Heading and Message fields for your gratitude messaging, but more can be done with this final step in the fan journey.

Our Thanks Step can be used to:

  • Provide external links - these can be for your store, other Openstage pages and more!

  • Host a video - say 'thanks' with a video, or provide a reward to fans for signing up.

  • Host audio - reward fans with a sneak peek at a new tune, or a demo for a recent track.

  • File giveaway - allow fans to download a file straight from the landing page!

  • Link to your fanpage - send fans to your fanpage for information on upcoming shows, products to peruse and the option to become a subscriber.

Additional Steps?

The simplest flow for any landing page is two steps:

Welcome Step > Thank You Step

Additional steps can be added by clicking the '+' symbol under the Welcome Step.

Below is an outline of some additional steps that can be added between the Welcome and Thank You steps.

Pre-save Step

Openstage offers a "Forever Pre-Save" - this means that fans don't need to opt-in to pre-save each individual release from an artist.

Collecting pre-saves from your fans allows you to push music directly to the fan's music library.

Set up a Pre-Save Step

⚠️ Please note: In order to collect pre-saves, you must first add relevant DSP links to your profile in Artist Settings.

Openstage offers pre-save functionality for Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer. The options presented to fans can be customised on a page-by-page basis, allowing you to push fans to pre-save on DSPs that are important to you.

πŸ™Œ Best Practice: Fans should be rewarded for their engagement and this can be done in a couple of ways:

1. Sneak Preview

Offering fans a peek behind the curtain is an excellent incentive for fans to pre-save.

Simply add an Audio Player Step hosting the track after the Pre-Save Step. In this case, we recommend the Pre-Save Step can't be skipped.

The fan journey in this case would be:

Welcome Step > Pre-Save Step > Audio Player Step > Thank You Step

2. Automated Music Delivery

Fans that pre-save are given a presave_welcome tag. This tag can be used as the trigger for automated broadcasts that send music directly to fans' music libraries.

For more information on these automations, check out our articles on:

A Pre-Save Step can be added to any landing page flow, but care should be taken to ensure it's not pulling focus from the intended goal of a landing page, or adding one too many steps for a fan to take.

Collect Upload Step

The Collect Upload Step allows you to collect photos, videos or text from your fans.

Set up a Collect upload Step

⚠️ Please note: Openstage allows you to collect fan uploads, but it is down to you to be clear about what the upload is being used for.

A terms and conditions field is available for you to add specific terms of use for uploads on these pages.

Collect Upload can be configured in one of two ways:

  • Collect media - Photos and videos

  • Collect story - Text

Once you have selected the configuration, you can adjust the wording for the Submit and Skip buttons, add a disclaimer and choose a tag to be applied to fans.

As with any tags on Openstage, we recommend that it is clear where the fan was tagged and why. If we were collecting uploads at our London show for example:

london.2025_upload

This tag can also be used to trigger automations, such as a "Thank You" email or a "here's some money off for sending us a photo" SMS.

πŸ™Œ Best Practice: Use Collect Upload as part of a QR code journey at shows.

QR codes can be configured for use at shows - your fans scan the QR code and are sent to the landing page you have selected.

Adding a Collect Upload Step allows fans to send you their memories from the show they attended. These can then be used later in broadcasts thanking fans for their attendance, or as part of community-exclusive behind the scenes content.

Fan journey:

QR code scan > landing page signup > fan uploads photo > thank you step > automated "thank you" broadcast

Collect Upload for Poll Answers

A 'collect story' Upload Step can be used for open-ended answers to questions you want to present to fans.

It is important to note that these uploads will need to be tagged with great care as the question won't be included with the upload.

Responses to these questions can be found in Fan Uploads.

Poll Step

A full breakdown of our poll step can be found here.

Where Should We Play Step

Ask fans where your next show should be!

Set up a Where Should We Play Step

Where Should We Play provides a pre-made poll for fans to choose Country and City from - all you need to do is add a heading and description and Openstage will do the rest!

Answers to this poll can be found using the 'Asked You To Come' query in our audience builder.

Make design changes

The aesthetic of your landing page can be adjusted in the "Design" and "Layout" tabs at the top of the landing page window.

Design

Alter page colours and add a background image!

The Design tab is your first port of call for your page colours, form colours and background image.

Altering page or form colours will trigger recommended colours for the other options - these automatic choices can be overridden.

Adding a background image will prevent the background colour from being seen on desktop, but background colour selection is still important for the mobile version of the page.

Two versions of your background image can be added - one for desktop and one for mobile. We recommend a 1920x1080 ratio for desktop and a 1x1 ratio for mobile.

Your artist logo can be added to the page here, too. Simply add the image to the Logo Image field and it will be present in the top left of the landing page.

Layout

Change your page layout!

The Layout tab provides options for positioning the sign-up form, altering the design with rounded corners and even blurring the background or adding shadows to the form.

Here you can also find the option to add an image as a foreground element. This can be used for resources like tour posters, positioning them opposite the form on the landing page and automatically repositioning the image for mobile view.

Finally, you have the option to remove social links from the bottom of the page. These social links are automatically populated from the matching field in Artist Settings.

Publish Your Page

Once you're happy with you landing page, it's time to show the world!

Landing pages can't be found until they have been published. Any landing pages that have been saved, but aren't published are in a draft state - this also means that any changes made to the page won't be seen until they are published.

This allows you to make changes to a page ahead of a deadline and publish them when the right time arrives.

As changes are being made to the page, small coloured markers denote the elements of the page that are currently unpublished changes, unsaved changes or errors.

Password Protected Pages

Add a password to your landing page.

Passwords can be added to landing pages to limit access to segmented fans that have been provided the password, or for easier collaboration between team members without fans having access to the page.

Simply head to the Config tab, toggle 'Password Protect' and add a password of your choice.

Scheduling Landing Pages

Add a countdown to launch!

A launch countdown can be added to a landing page by heading to the Config tab and toggling 'Scheduled Launch?'

Simply add a time and date and a countdown will be added to the page. if the countdown is for sign-up launch, we'd recommend disabling sign-ups until the launch time has been reached!

⚠️ Please note: Scheduling the page WILL NOT automatically publish the page once the date/time has been reached. The countdown is only aesthetic.

You will need to manually publish any changes to the page that need to be made once the launch date/time has been reached.

Disable Signups

Close signups once the campaign window has passed.

The signup form can be disabled by heading to the Config tab and toggling 'Disable Signups?'

This removes the input fields from the form, but the Heading and Description remain on the page - this is useful for any 'signup has now closed' messaging.

Embed Your Landing Page

Our landing pages can be embedded on your website.

Get the embed code

Head to the landing page you'd like to embed

  • Click on the share button

  • A popup will appear with options for copying the link or embed - select embed

The embed code will be added to your clipboard to be pasted in your web design tool.

Show me the data!

Once you publish and share a landing page with your fans, you can monitor the performance of the page in the Stats tab at the top of the landing page window.

Page Stats Breakdown

The first segment of the Stats tab provides insight on how many fans have interacted with the landing page, as well as a breakdown of page interactions over time.

Note: The "your page has attracted" audience comprises fans that have provided the first piece of signup data (email address or phone) and have accepted marketing permissions.

Hovering your mouse over different points on the graph will display fan interactions for the given date.

Referrer URL Breakdown

The lower segment on the Stats tab displays referrer URLs for your landing page.

A referrer URL is the location a fan arrived at the landing page from - the fan acquisition source.

So, if a fan saw the link for your landing page in your Instagram bio and clicked it, the referrer URL will be be something along the lines of "https://l.instagram.com."

A more detailed view of acquisition sources can be found on the Growth Dashboard.

Config Tab

Add third party analytics, or change your page info.

Third Party Analytics

Add third party analytics.

Your Facebook Pixel ID or Google Tag Manager ID can be added to the relevant fields in the Config tab.

Page Tag

Alter the tag assigned to fans when they sign-up.

Your landing page tag can be changed in the Config tab.

Note: The new tag will only apply to any fans that sign-up after the tag was altered.

Any fans that signed up before the change will have the previous tag. This tag can be changed in the Tag Manager.

Page Info

Change the title and sort URL of your landing page.

The title of your page is for internal use and can't be seen by any fans that visit the page. We recommend choosing a title that makes the function of the page clear.

The short URL is the latter portion of the landing page URL, or page link. This URL can be seen by fans and will appear in Google searches.

Changing the short URL will prevent any previous links to the page from functioning - these links will need to be updated to the new page URL.

Hidden Pages

We also offer hidden splash pages that can only be accessed by anyone with the hidden page link.

For more information on Hidden Pages, check out our article.
