What can you rent or borrow on Poppins?

Updated this week

✅ What can be rented on Poppins? (and what’s moderated or rejected)

Poppins is a peer-to-peer rental app designed to make it easy to share everyday items with neighbors – whether it’s baby gear, DIY tools, holiday accessories, sports equipment, or party supplies.

To ensure a safe and helpful experience for everyone, every item listed is reviewed by our team before it goes live.

Items allowed for rental

You’re welcome to rent out:

  • Baby gear: strollers, travel cots, baby carriers, bottle warmers…

  • DIY & tools: drills, sanders, ladders, pressure washers…

  • Home & kitchen: ice cream makers, raclette machines, foldable tables…

  • Camping & outdoor: tents, hiking backpacks, portable fridges…

  • Party & events: speakers, disco balls, fondue sets…

  • Soft mobility: bikes, trailers, scooters, roof boxes…

  • Leisure & sports: yoga mats, paddles, board games, ski equipment…

  • Tech & accessories: projectors, VR headsets, cameras..

💡 General rule: if you’d feel comfortable lending it to a neighbor, you can likely rent it out on Poppins.

Items not allowed on the platform

The following items are not accepted:

  • Perishable or food items

  • Live animals

  • Medical, professional or regulated equipment

  • Motorized vehicles that require a driving licence (cars, scooters…)

  • Weapons or dangerous items

  • Counterfeit goods

  • Anything meant for resale (Poppins is for rentals, not sales)

⚠️ Items under moderation or pending

An item might be moderated, put on hold, or rejected if:

  • The description is unclear or incomplete

  • Photos are missing, blurry, or inappropriate

  • The item doesn’t comply with safety or legal standards

  • We’re unsure if it’s relevant or useful for rental (in that case, we’ll reach out!)
