Customers may request that their billing date be changed to a specific day. You can now do this directly in Stora by choosing any future billing date for their subscription.
How to change the billing date
Open the customer’s subscription in Stora and go to the Billing section.
Next to the Next invoice date, click the pencil icon.
In the calendar picker, select the new billing date you want the subscription to renew on.
Click Preview changes to see how the new billing schedule and charges will look.
If everything looks correct, click Change billing date to confirm.
💡 You can only move the billing date to the end of the next billing period. It is not possible to backdate.
How the charges work
When you change the billing date, Stora will automatically handle any prorated adjustments for you. The preview shows:
The new billing cycle and renewal date.
Any credit for unused time on the current period.
The amount that will be charged for the new period once the new billing date is reached.
Whether an invoice will still be issued for the current period if the new billing date is after the current billing date.
No email is sent at the moment you change the billing date. The customer will see the details on their invoice when it is generated.
