How to create a custom price for a unit type
Updated over a month ago

In Stora, you can now create custom pricing for unit types and assign unique prices to individual customer subscriptions. Here's how to set it up:

1. Go the subscription you are wanting to change and select Edit Unit Types

πŸ’‘ Custom Pricing also works on Insurance/Protection

2. Now use the Add Custom Price button and enter the price you want to set. When the custom price has been entered, press Create Price & Continue.

πŸ’‘ This creates a permanent record of the price, which you can choose to apply later. Custom prices are separate from your storefront's listed prices.

3. You will now be able to choose when you want the new custom price to take effect:

  • Immediately

  • On next renewal

  • Backdate

When you have made you choice, select Preview Changes.

4. The final step is to confirm the changes you have made. If you are happy you can use the Save changes button. πŸ“ This will NOT inform the customer of any price change automatically, you will need to handle this communication.

It's possible to create different prices for a unit type before making a subscription:

  1. View your site, select the Unit Type tab and then press edit on the unit type on which you'd like to create a unique price

  2. Change the price to the desired unique price and save. (This creates a permanent record of this price which you can choose later, but it also makes this the current price for any new bookings from the Storefront so the next step is important)

  3. Go back into the Unit Type straight away and change the price back to what it should be for new bookings.

  4. You'll then be able to choose this price option when creating the subscription.
