The Drawing Viewer (or Drawing Editor) is the heart of Togal.AI, where you’ll spend most of your time performing takeoffs. Here’s how to navigate it effectively.
The top left corner
The top left corner of your screen provides access to the following functions:
The Togal Logo: Clicking on the Togal Logo will take you back to the Document Management Menu
Drawing Menu Navigator: Use the Drawing Menu navigator to switch pages and access the collapsible Drawing Menu
Right click on a drawing to open drawings in a new tab, or access to more drawing management functions
Click the left or right arrows to move to previous or next page
Click the Page Number & Title to rename your drawing sheet number and title
Share: Invite users for Internal Collaboration and External Sharing directly within the Drawing Canvas.
The left Bar
The left panel shows the Control Menu, which provides all the functions to edit drawings and the takeoff. The control menu include:
Selection Tool - Click on the Mouse symbol to activate the Selection Tool (Hot Key: Esc), enabling you to easily select polygons by clicking or click + dragging
Pan - Activating the Pan tool allows for smooth navigation throughout your drawing by enabling the Pan function
Merge Tool - Allows you to quickly fill in any Area Polygon
Cut & Subtract Tool - is essential for removing unwanted spaces and replacing them with the desired area classification
Split Tool - allows you to divide a polygon into multiple smaller polygons
Measure Tool - acts as a virtual ruler, allowing you to measure any section of your drawing and verify the accuracy of your document's scale
Markup Tools - offers a variety of customizable, easy-to-use markup tools
Undo - Allows you to quickly undo the last operation you performed within Togal
Redo - Allows you quickly redo the last operation you performed within Togal
Version History - Allows you to revert to a previous saved version of your project
Snapshot - Enables you to create a permanent save point for your current sheet
Settings Menu - Allowing you to customize your personal settings within Togal
Search Tools - These tools enable users to make use of Text Search, Image Search, and Pattern Search functionalities within Togal
In addition to the Control Menu, on the left side of the Canvas, you can also find the View Mode tool (top) and the Scale
View Mode Tool: Easily allows you to switch between 2D and 3D view mode
Scale - to set and adjust the scale for the drawing you are currently working on
The right tab
The right side of the screen provides access to the following functions, click the link to a detailed description of each.
Togal Button - The green Togal button enables you to access our automated takeoff AI that eliminates manual takeoff tasks
Togal.CHAT - Can read the plans and specification documents you upload and allows you to ask questions of the documents you upload to Togal
Quantities Panel - Allows you to create and organize the takeoffs. Click this button to turn on and off the Quantities Panel
Breakdown - Allows you to organize quantities into structured groups for easier takeoff management and analysis
Export to Excel - Allows you to export the quantities to excel
Compare - Allows you to compare two drawing sheets
Export PDF - Allows you to export a copy of your takeoff into a PDF file
