BRS Standard Competition Setup

Updated over 4 months ago

This feature is available for the following products:

When setting up a standard competition, players can sign up for a specific tee time within the competition. When setting up your competition in BRS, this will automatically create an event in Golf Genius TM. Similarly, when players sign up on BRS, they will automatically be populated into the event in Golf Genius TM.

In this article, we will discuss setting up your competition in BRS and managing the event in Golf Genius TM.

BRS Standard Competition Set Up:

When running a Standard Competition in BRS, your first step will be to create the competition in BRS. To do this, follow these directions:

  1. In BRS, navigate to the Tools option from the Menu.

  2. Then go to Member Competitions.

  3. Select "Standard" from the "Competition Type" drop-down.

  4. You will then be able to set the name, date, and other settings for this competition.

  5. After completing the set up, click "Add."

For more information about creating a standard competition within BRS, please contact BRS Support.

Managing the Standard Competition in Golf Genius:

Once the competition has been created on BRS, this will automatically create an event with the appropriate rounds in the Golf Genius Customer Center. The event will be placed into the Events, Leagues, and Trips category by default (as shown below). Note: You can then drag and drop the event to the relevant category (i.e., Mens, Ladies, Seniors, etc.) if needed.

Creating a Tournament in Golf Genius:

After making the necessary adjustment in the Customer Center, you will want to create your tournaments within the event. To create your tournament, follow these directions:

  1. Navigate to and open the Event from the Customer Center.

  2. Go to Rounds > Tournaments > Add New Tournament.

  3. Enter the tournament information (i.e., Name, format, competition, etc.). For more information on creating tournaments, Click Here.

  4. Click "Save," and the tournament will be created.

BRS Player Registration:

Players can sign up for the competition directly on BRS. As players register, they will show on the BRS tee sheet (as shown below).

Further, any registered player will automatically pull through into the Golf Genius pairings (as shown below). Note: Only times occupied by golfers on BRS will pull through into Golf Genius. For example, in the previous image, the 10:12 time is empty; therefore, it has not been transferred into the pairings on Golf Genius, as seen in the image below.

Note: All sign-up options for the competition are set within BRS. If you allow sign-up on the day of the competition, you will need to manually pull the pairings or add them to the event directly on Golf Genius. This is because the integration pulls the pairings from BRS at 6:00 a.m. (locally) every morning. Any player signing up through BRS after this time on the competition's day will not automatically be pulled into the Golf Genius pairings. For details on manually pulling the pairings, Click Here. For more information on manually adding a player to the pairings, Click Here.

Setting Golf Genius Course and Tees:

As players register for the event, you can set the course and tee accordingly. To do so, go to Round > Edit Existing Pairings. For complete details on editing pairings, Click Here.

Entering Scores:

Players can then enter their scores using the Clubs Score Input Terminal or the BRS Golf Scoring App.
