What is Appointment Bundling?
Appointment Bundling combines a patient's appointments on the same day into one reminder message that lists every appointment.
Example: A patient has 3 back-to-back appointments on the same day. With Appointment Bundling on, they get one reminder that lists all three, each with its own time.
Patients can confirm or cancel all of the bundled appointments from that one reminder.
What's the difference between Appointment Filtering and Appointment Bundling?
Setting | What it does |
Appointment Filtering | Groups a patient's appointments that are close together, so they get one reminder instead of several. |
Appointment Bundling | Goes one step further. That one reminder lists each appointment, with who it's with, where, and what time. |
Heads up: You must turn on Appointment Filtering before you can use Appointment Bundling.
How do I turn on Appointment Bundling?
In the left-hand menu, click Reminders.
Click the Settings tab.
Scroll to Multiple Reminders.
Make sure Appointment Filtering is turned on.
Turn on Appointment Bundling.
Save your changes.
Appointments are bundled within the timeframe you set in Appointment Filtering.
How do I add bundled appointments to my reminder message?
Add the [apptbundling] token to your Reminders script.
When the reminder is sent, [apptbundling] is replaced with:
"You have an appointment with [with] at [location] at [time] and an appointment with [with] at [location] at [time]"
The "and an appointment with [with] at [location] at [time]" part repeats for each additional appointment that day.
You can add your own text before or after the token to customize the rest of the message.
Note: The [apptbundling] token only works when Appointment Bundling is turned on. It's listed with the other tokens when you create or edit a Reminders script.
Can patients confirm or cancel bundled appointments?
Yes. From the bundled reminder, patients can confirm or cancel all of their appointments in it.
Note: Confirming or canceling applies to all appointments in the bundle. Patients can't confirm one and cancel another from the same reminder.
