Onboarding Guide for Whalar Brand Deals: Talent Managers

Step 1: Create a Talent Manager account

💡 If you already have a Foam Talent Manager account, please follow this link to log in. Once logged in, proceed to Step 2.

  1. Follow this link to sign up as a Talent Manager.

  2. Enter your preferred email address and create a password, or select Continue with Google/Microsoft:

  3. Select Talent Rep on the page that opens next and click Create an account:

  4. Provide your Name and the Agency you work for, and click Continue:

  5. Next, select the 'Yes, contact me with brand deals' option - this will make your talent visible to the Whalar Campaign Team:

  6. Go over a quick product tour outlining the key features of Foam. That's it! Your account is now created.

Step 2: Invite your Talent to connect to Foam


1. Log in to your Foam Talent Manager account.

2. Click the Add Talent button in the top-right corner.

3. Select the platform from the dropdown menu and enter the creator's handle or URL.

4. Choose whether to enable or disable Smart Profiles, then click Next to continue.

5. Review the account(s) you are about to add, then click Next again.

6. Review/edit the creator's profile information as needed, then click Add.

7. Next, enter your creator's preferred email address and click Invite to send them an invitation to connect their socials to Foam. This step is mandatory to allow your talent to participate in Whalar Brand Deals.

💡 If you initially skipped this step, you can always invite your talent directly from the Platform Connections page. Simply click the Invite button at the top of the screen to invite them to authenticate their socials on Foam.

8. Once your talent accepts the invite and links their social accounts, their manually added profile will automatically update with verified data. This provides you with full access to their detailed metrics and enables you to view the Whalar Brand Deals menu (Messages & Payments).

Step 3: Have your Talent accept your invitation

To ensure a smooth and successful onboarding process for your talent, it's essential that they know how to accept your invitation to join Foam. Please share these clear steps with your talent.


For Talent New to Foam

For talent new to the Foam platform, here's a step-by-step guide they can follow:

1. The creator should click the Connect button in the email invitation they receive from their Talent Manager.

2. They'll then need to set their password and click Sign up. Alternatively, they can sign up using their Google or Microsoft account if the email address you invited them with is linked to one of these services.

3. The next crucial step is to connect their social accounts to Foam. Connecting socials is required to complete the registration process. They should start by connecting their Instagram and/or TikTok. Once either is connected, they’ll be able to link their YouTube.


For Talent with Existing Foam Accounts

1. Ask them to log in to their Foam account.

2. They'll see the invitation notification; all they need to do is click the Accept button in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

Step 4: Submit your Talent for Whalar Brand Deals

Note: Unverified talent can be submitted for consideration in Whalar Brand Deals; however, they must verify (connect) their social accounts to participate in a campaign and gain access to the Payments and Messaging tabs. For more information, check out this guide.

During the initial sign-up process, you have the opportunity to opt into brand deals. By selecting this option, your agency will be able to submit talent for consideration in brand deals and access a range of features to help manage these opportunities.

If you've missed this step during the initial setup, you (or any other admin in your agency) can opt your agency into brand deals consideration through the Agency settings dashboard:

  1. Log in to your Foam Talent Manager account.

  2. Navigate to Agency settings.

  3. Select the General tab.

  4. Scroll to the bottom and toggle on the Brand Deals option.

Once enabled, your talent will be automatically submitted and accepted for brand deals consideration.

Step 5: Complete your Talent's Payment Profile

1. Log in to your Foam Talent Manager account.

2. Click the View Profile button next to your talent's name.

3. Select the Payments tab.

📌 Note: If payment details haven’t been added yet, you may be prompted to enter legal information. Please be sure to enter the creator’s legal name.

4. You'll be prompted to set up a two-step verification – enter your mobile number and click Send code to request a verification code:

5. Input the code received through the message and click Submit. If you didn't receive the code via message, no worries – you'll get it through an automated call within the next 2 minutes:

6. Complete the Address page: First, select the payment type.

  • If the payment is going to the representing agency, please select "Company" in the Type field.

  • If the payment is going directly to the creator, please select "Individual".

Then, enter the contact email, phone number, name, and mailing address of the recipient. Once completed, click Next.

**If the payment type is set to "Company", the name fields (First Name, Middle Name and Last Name) are optional.

7. Complete the Payment Method page: From the dropdown menu, select your preferred payment method and enter your banking details. The payment methods and currencies may differ depending on the country you selected on the Address page (Step 5). Once completed, click Next.

🎯 Make sure to check the "Name on Account" field 🎯

  • If the payment type is set to "Individual", the field will automatically include the name you entered in Step 5. No action is required on your side.

  • If the payment type is set to "Company", ensure to modify this field to match the company name added in Step 5.

8. Complete the Tax Forms page: The page will automatically detect your location and request the necessary tax information to comply with the local laws of that country/jurisdiction.

9. Complete the VAT information and click Next.

10. Voila! You should see a confirmation message on your screen:

Step 6: Accept the campaign proposal

1. Log in to your Foam Talent Manager account.

2. Click the View Profile button next to your talent's name.

3. From the creator's profile, navigate to the Messages tab.

4. Click on the relevant campaign on the left to review the campaign proposal.

5. Review the proposal and click Accept Proposal.
