Canceling Your Membership

How to cancel, what happens next, and how to come back if you change your mind.

You can cancel your WatersAbove™ membership anytime from your account settings on the web app. You'll keep full access to the platform until the end of your current billing period. After that, your subscription ends.

Cancellation is only available on the web app at app.watersabove.com. It is not available in the mobile app.

Heads up: Memberships are managed through our third-party billing system. You may see Stripe and Link appear on your billing statements, payment screens, and confirmation emails. These are our trusted partners that keep your payment information secure.


🔑 Setup for Success

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • Access to the email address you used when you signed up

  • Logged into app.watersabove.com on a desktop or mobile browser (not the mobile app)


✅ Step-by-Step

  1. Log into app.watersabove.com on a web browser

  2. Open your Settings menu

  3. Click Membership

  4. You'll be taken to the Link billing portal

  5. Locate your WatersAbove subscription and click the 'Manage Membership button to be redirected to Stripe's Customer Portal.

  6. Select the option to cancel

  7. Confirm your cancellation

You'll receive a confirmation email once your cancellation is complete.


✅ Changed Your Mind? You Can Undo It.

If you cancel and change your mind, you can reverse it as long as your subscription hasn't ended yet.

  1. Return to SettingsMembership in the web app

  2. Open the billing portal through Link

  3. Click 'manage membership' to be brought to Stripe's Customer Portal

  4. Select the option to renew or reactivate your subscription

  5. Confirm

Your subscription will continue as normal with no interruption to your access or billing schedule.

  • You keep full access to WatersAbove until the end of your current billing period

  • You won't be charged again after your cancellation

  • Your end-of-access date is shown in the billing portal so you know exactly when your subscription ends

  • No further action is needed — your subscription will end automatically on that date


❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Will I get a refund if I cancel?

Canceling stops future charges but does not automatically refund past payments. For details on refund eligibility, please see our Refund Policy.

What happens to my profile, posts, and progress after I cancel?

Can I rejoin WatersAbove after canceling?

Yes. You can rejoin anytime from our pricing page at watersabove.app/pricing. We recommend using the same email address you originally signed up with so we can help connect you back to your account history.

Please note that pricing reflects current rates at the time of signup.

Does canceling my WatersAbove membership also cancel my Patreon?

No. WatersAbove and Patreon are two independent platforms with separate billing. Canceling one does not cancel the other. If you're a member of both, you'll need to cancel each one independently.

Can I pause my membership instead of canceling?

We don't currently offer the option to pause a membership. Your two options are to keep your subscription active or cancel it. You're welcome to rejoin anytime.

Can I cancel in the mobile app?

No. Cancellation is only available on the web app. Please log into app.watersabove.com on a desktop or mobile browser to cancel.
