Creating Your Account

Learn how to create your account, complete onboarding, and access the WatersAbove platform for the first time.

⚡️ Quick Answer

There are two paths to joining THE COLLECTIVE by WatersAbove™

Path 1: Purchase a Membership from www.watersabove.app/pricing and receive an invite via email to complete email verification, account creation, and profile optimization.

Path 2: (this is most common on mobile via the App Store -or- Google Play Store) You create an account without a membership and verify your email. At that point you will be directed to purchase a membership. See callout below for important steps required to complete this process.

🔑 Setup for Success

• You must be 18 years of age or older
• You must have an Active Membership with THE COLLECTIVE by WatersAbove™ in order to reach the end of this flow.
• You must have access to the inbox of the email you use (as you will need to retrieve a 6-digit code to verify your email)
• You must fill out all required fields in order to complete your account and profile.

Note: If you began the account creation process before purchasing a membership you will need to "log-out" of your current session. Alternatively close the app or browser and begin a fresh session. Then continue on the process below.

Phase 1: Account Creation

  1. Open the app (or visit app.watersabove.com)

  2. Enter your Email

  3. If Verified, enter Password
    If Unverified, enter 6-digit code

  4. Add profile Picture (required, but editable from Settings)

  5. Create username (required, but editable from Settings)

  6. Create Display Name (required, but editable from Settings)

  7. Enter Date of Birth (required, but editable from Settings)

  8. Accept Terms & Conditions (required).

At this point, you have a complete account with us 🙌
Next, will be to begin your profile.

Phase 2: Profile Creation

  1. Enter Your Location (see Frequently Asked Questions below for more)

  2. Optionally Subscribe to Member Map

  3. Answer the required step: Choose a Focus is required.

  4. Answer the optional questions provided throughout the rest of the flow (it enhances your experience!)

If you 'SKIP' the optional questions, you may always complete you profile later. View Editing MY-PORTAL for those steps.

What Happens Next?

You’ll land on the home screen where you can explore ARCHIVE, OASIS, and PORTAL.

I don't want to share my location! Why is this required?

Sharing your location publicly is completely optional. You do not need to participate in Member Map, or share your location on your profile. However, to help us understand the demographics of our members, we store location securely in our user database.

Important notes:

  1. YOU decide the amount of details you share with us. If you are uncomfortable sharing specific data, you have the option to only share the Continent in which you reside.

  2. We do NOT track device location. What is being shared is a manual entry of any of the following: continent, country, state or region, city. If you share your city, you are sharing everything that comes before it. If you share your continent, you are only sharing your continent.

I never received the 6-digit code

  1. Check spam or promotions folder

  2. Try signing in again and utilize the "resend code" option

  3. Try signing in again and ensure you do not have a typo in your email address

  4. Open app.watersabove.com in an Private (Incognito) Browser and choose the "Forgot Password" flow instead
