If your school or district uses both HMH Ed and Canvas, we recommend choosing to use either Ed rosters or Canvas rosters, not both.
❗️Note: You may have already imported classes when you logged into Writable for the first time!
Choosing one source for your rosters helps to prevent duplicate assignments and avoids confusion for students. To help you decide whether to use Ed or Canvas, consider these two questions:
1. Where do students typically access their assignments?
2. Do you want Writable assignment grades to be synced to your gradebook?
If students access most assignments through Canvas, and you would like to sync grades to your Canvas gradebook, follow these steps to use your Canvas classes.
If students access HMH Ed for their assignments, but you would still like to sync grades to your Canvas gradebook click here to use your Canvas classes.
If students access HMH Ed for their assignments, and you do not use the Canvas gradebook, follow these directions to use your Ed classes.
Still not sure which to use? Check with your school or district Writable Admin or reach out to us at support@writable.com for more guidance.
❗NOTE: Your school or district must be set up with a Writable and Canvas integration in order to import and assign to Canvas classes and for grades to sync to your grade book. Only Canvas Administrators can set up a Writable and Canvas integration. Read more about setting up a Writable-Canvas link here.
