This section explains how Instories subscriptions work across different platforms and app stores, and in which cases you’ll need to activate your subscription again or buy a separate one. Below, you’ll find scenarios for: moving between Android devices, moving between iOS devices, trying to move from iOS ↔ Android, using Instories on the web, and Family Sharing limitations.
How can I transfer my subscription from Android to iOS (or vice versa)?
Unfortunately, subscriptions cannot be transferred between iOS and Android. Because App Store and Google Play use separate billing systems, subscriptions cannot be moved from Android to iOS or from iOS to Android.
On iOS, subscriptions are connected to your Apple ID. On Android, subscriptions are connected to your Google Play account or HUAWEI ID (depending on the store from which you got the app). These are different platforms and different accounts.
How can I transfer my subscription from Android to Android?
Make sure you’re signed in with the same Google Play account you used to purchase the subscription. The subscription will be active on any Android device with that account.
👉 Please Note: Subscriptions cannot be transferred to iOS.
👉 If you bought the subscription in Google Play, it works only on Android devices with Google Play services. If you use another Android device without Google Play services and install the app from AppGallery, you’ll need a separate subscription.
How can I transfer my subscription from iOS to iOS?
Make sure you’re signed in with the same Apple ID you used when purchasing your subscription.
To restore access, open the app → tap the menu (three lines) in the top left → Restore Purchase. The subscription will be active on any iOS device with that Apple ID.

Can I share my subscription via Family Sharing?
We’d love to make that possible, but your subscription cannot be shared through Family Sharing. You can share the app itself, but not the subscription associated with it.
Using My Subscription on the Website
If purchased on Android:
At the moment, subscriptions bought on Android devices can only be used in the mobile app. Web access also isn’t available yet, but we’re working on it. 💜
If purchased on iOS:
Go to instories.com and click Login (top right).
Select Continue with Apple.
Use the same Apple ID you used for your purchase.
