What Are the Red and Yellow Tiles?
The red and yellow tiles at the top of the Time screen act as your system's built-in issue detection tool. These tiles flag time card and employee issues, so you know what needs to be reviewed and fixed before moving forward.
Red tiles indicate critical issues that must be resolved before processing payroll.
Yellow tiles highlight important employee-related events that require your attention but won’t hold up payroll.
With these tiles, you can take swift action and prevent potential payroll headaches.
All About the Red Issue Tiles
Red tiles capture critical time card problems, including:
Failing to clock out.
Clocking into an Unknown Job.
Since these issues can affect payroll accuracy, you’ll need to address them before running payroll.
Fixing Red Tile Issues
Click on a red tile, such as "Missed Clock Out," to filter those issues.
There are seven missed clock-outs to fix before you can run payroll. Click into the red cell for Anna Lee on Thursday.
The next screen is where you fix the issue. Manually enter the correct clock-out time or use the time picker and save.
You fixed Anna's missed clock-out for Thursday; now there are six more to correct for other employees. Notice that Anna's cell for Thursday isn't red anymore, but there is a red dot to indicate someone corrected it.
All About the Yellow Issue Tiles
Yellow tiles serve as a real-time warning system, capturing potential time card events such as:
Not being GPS-tracked at the job when clocking in/out.
Leaving the job site while on the clock.
Missing a scheduled clock-in.
Arriving late to a scheduled shift.
Clocking into an unscheduled job.
Bypassing a TimeTile when clocking in/out.
These tiles help you detect anomalies like Bob clocking out at home while enjoying late-night talk radio. These are the most common event tiles. You can create tiles for many other events by setting your notification defaults. You're in control.
Yellow tiles don’t hold up payroll like red ones, but reviewing and clearing them is essential to ensure your records stay accurate.
Reviewing and Clearing Yellow Tile Issues
For example, by clicking on the "Located not at job" tile, we see one instance that highlights Beth's time card on Monday.
Where was Beth if she wasn't located at the job? Click into the yellow cell to see her time card and map. The green arrow (1) is the job site location, and the red arrow (pin drop) is where we tracked her clock in and out location, which is her house. We let her do office work from home that day, so let's click the yellow clear button.
We cleared the one "located not at job" event for Beth, and that yellow tile went away. Also, Beth's yellow cell on Monday is white now, with a yellow dot indicating her time card was reviewed and cleared.
