Advanced Counts includes categories for Phones and Expert Phones to filter a voter list to best contact voters with the appropriate phone number for your project.
Step 1: Use Phones or Expert Phones
Use the Phones > Phone Numbers selection option to include the High Reliability Mobile or High Reliability Landline phone number with High Phone Reliability. Separate landline and mobile phone numbers are included in most export file styles, and the Primary Phone column in some export styles include a singular mobile or landline phone number.
Updated October 2024: Your selected phone type will determine the field values that are included in your Phone List export. For example, a count that applies High Reliability Mobile phone numbers will result in an export that will only include the Primary Mobile phone number field values:
Mobile | MobileTRC | MobileDNC |
Phone List exports using counts that do not specify a phone type will include both Primary Mobile and Primary Landline field values.
Since phone numbers are generally not included in voter data, phone numbers are appended from different consumer and other data sources. The Expert Phones category includes options to select phone numbers from specific data providers, including original voter file and absentee voter data when provided. Phone numbers may also be filtered using Phone Type/Exclude Do Not Call, Telephone Reliability Code (TRC), Match Level, Time of Day, and Append Dates.
Step 2: Filter Phone Properties using Expert Phones
Use the Expert Phones category for filtering your voter list using specific phone number properties. For example, go to Expert Phones > Phone Type > Exclude Do Not Call to remove phones on the national FTC Do Not Call list. Please note that political contacts are excluded from Do Not Call regulations.
Use Expert Phones > Telephone Reliability Code (TRC) to filter phones by one or more specific TRC values to add phones from a particular phone provider. For example, use TRC "9" for the highest TRC code for phones from Data Axle sources.
Add other count criteria including Districts, Party Affiliation, Voter Tags, and Vote History to refine your voter list. The overall results from your count will be displayed at the bottom of the Advanced Counts interface. Use Preview to confirm the party affiliation and demographic voter counts for your list.
Step 3: Prepare Your Voter List
Select Export File to set up your voter list to export into a spreadsheet. Choose the Phone List or Phone Detail List styles to create a detailed calling list. The Phone Detail List includes all provided phone numbers by provider and phone type.
Updated October 2024: The Phone List style's field values may vary based on your Phone Type selection criteria. A Phone List export with count criteria that specify the Mobile or Landline phone type will include either the Mobile or Landline field values for the phone number, Telephone Reliability Code (TRC), and Do Not Call (DNC) flag. If no phone type or both phone types are included in the count criteria, both Primary Mobile and Primary Landline fields will be included in the Phone List export.
Select the household or individual voter export option most suited for your list and add any other export options as appropriate.
Step 4: Export and Download Your Voter List
Choose the file format (CSV, XLS, XLSX, or MDB) and name your file if desired, then select Export Data Now. Go to My Data > My Exports to view your file's processing status. When processing has completed, click on the completed file link to download the file in ZIP format to your computer. Double-click on the zip file to open the extracted file for your application.
