If someone tells you they emailed you and you never received it — with no bounce-back to them and nothing showing up in your Junk or Trash folders — here's how to check what's going on.
First, confirm it's not a delivery timing issue
Give it a few minutes. Most mail arrives within seconds, but occasional delays of a minute or two can happen.
Check Junk/Spam and Trash in the mailbox, not just the inbox.
Ask the sender to check their own Sent folder and confirm they didn't get a bounce-back (a "delivery failed" notice). If they got a bounce, the issue is on their end — the message never reached us in the first place.
If you're using a mail client (Outlook, Apple Mail, a mail app on your phone) alongside the Maildoso dashboard, make sure it's fully synced — refresh or restart the app before assuming a message is missing.
If the message still isn't there
Sometimes a message is confirmed as received by our mail servers, but doesn't make it into the mailbox, with no error generated on either side. This is different from a normal bounce or spam-filtering case, and it isn't something you can fix from the dashboard — it needs to be looked at on our end.
To help us investigate quickly, please contact support with:
The affected mailbox address(es)
The sender's address and the approximate date/time the email was sent
The subject line (or a unique word in it) so we can trace it
Whether this happened once or repeatedly, and roughly what share of your incoming mail seems affected
A note on testing this yourself
If you want to test delivery, send a handful of separate test emails (not identical copies) from an external account to your mailbox, spaced a few minutes apart, and check each one individually over IMAP or in the dashboard. This gives our team much more to work with than a single missing email.
If you're still stuck after checking the above, contact support and we'll take a look at your specific case.
