Why might my IBAN be archived?
From 30 September 2026, each GBP, EUR, and USD wire IBAN on the Standard plan costs $0.99 per month to keep open. If the monthly fee cannot be collected — for example, because your balance is too low — your IBAN will be archived automatically.
IBANs may also be archived due to a period of inactivity, or at your request.
✅ Who is excluded from these fees
The following users are not charged the $5.99 activation fee or the $0.99 monthly fee:
GCC residents— for their USD account
EU residents— for their EUR account
UK residents— for their GBP account
Prior activation fee payers ($5.99 or $1.99)— per IBAN: the activation fee exempts you from the $0.99 monthly fee for that specific IBAN only. If you open a different IBAN currency, the $5.99 activation and $0.99/month apply to that new IBAN
nsave Pro subscribers— included in your subscription
ℹ️ This only affects your IBAN, not your nsave account. Your account, card, @ntag, invest account, and funds are not affected. Archiving means only that specific IBAN number stops working — your money and account stay exactly as they are.
What does archiving mean?
Those specific bank details can no longer be used to send or receive transfers
Any payment sent to the archived IBAN will bounce back to the sender — it will not reach you
Your nsave account stays open
Your funds remain safe and available
⚠️ If you expect incoming payments — salary, client transfers, standing orders — update the sender with new bank details before archiving occurs. Payments to an archived IBAN are returned to the sender, not held for you.
How do I avoid my IBAN being archived?
Make sure your balance covers the $0.99 monthly fee. If you're on nsave Pro or in one of the excluded groups above, the fee doesn't apply.
If you don't want to keep paying the fee, two free options:
Move your balance to your USD Account — free including FX conversion until 30 September 2026. We'll notify you as soon as this is available in the app. The IBAN archives automatically.
Withdraw to your local currency — free on both Standard and Pro, no deadline.
Can I get my IBAN back after it's been archived?
Yes, but a new IBAN is issued — the old number is gone permanently.

To request a new IBAN, tap the + icon on the Home screen under Accounts and select Request a new IBAN.
