The $0.99 charge starts on 30 September 2026, one per IBAN, monthly. If you do nothing, you're charged. Archiving doesn't touch your nsave account, but it stops the IBAN receiving payments, and a new IBAN afterwards costs $5.99.
✅ Who is excluded from these fees
The following users are not charged the $5.99 activation fee or the $0.99 monthly fee:
GCC residents— for their USD account
EU residents— for their EUR account
UK residents— for their GBP account
Prior activation fee payers ($5.99 or $1.99)— per IBAN: the activation fee exempts you from the $0.99 monthly fee for that specific IBAN only. If you open a different IBAN currency, the $5.99 activation and $0.99/month apply to that new IBAN
nsave Pro subscribers— included in your subscription
When you'll be charged
If you already hold an IBAN, your first charge is 30 September 2026, then the same date each month.
If you opened your IBAN recently and paid the $5.99 activation fee, your monthly charge starts one month after you opened it, on the same date each month. Either way, no charge happens before 30 September.
The charge comes out of your USD balance with no conversion fee. If you have no USD balance, we convert $0.99 from your EUR or GBP balance at the mid-market rate. You'll see it in your transaction list like any other transaction.
If you do nothing
You keep the IBAN and pay $0.99 a month. If you're receiving payments into it, that's the right choice and there's nothing to do.
If your balance won't cover the fee
If your balance is less than $0.99 when the charge is due, we take what's there and archive the IBAN. Nothing is owed afterwards and your balance can't go below zero. Once archived, no further charges are taken.
What archiving means
Archiving is an administrative status change. It isn't a closure or a freeze, and nothing happens to your money.
When an IBAN is archived:
Your funds are not affected. Any remaining balance stays yours and stays visible in the app.
Your nsave account stays open. Card, @ntag, invest account and USD wallet keep working.
The IBAN details stop working. You can't send or receive with them.
Payments sent to an archived IBAN bounce back to the sender.
⚠️ If you're expecting a salary, a client payment or anything on a standing order, don't archive until you've given the payer new details.
What keeps working
Still works | Notes |
Your nsave account | Stays open. Archiving an IBAN is not closing an account. |
Your card | Spends from your nsave balance as normal. |
Your @ntag | Instant and free between nsave users. |
Your USD wallet | Free to hold, free to keep. |
Your USD ACH details | Free. No monthly fee, no activation fee. |
Your invest account | Unaffected. |
Rewards on USD balances | Unaffected. |
Getting an IBAN back
Tap the + icon on the Home screen under Accounts, then Request a new IBAN. This is a new activation: $5.99 on Standard (then $0.99/month from the following month). Free on Pro. Your old IBAN details won't come back — anyone paying you will need the new ones.
