Resetting the MCU in the Handy 2

How to restart the Main Compute Unit in the Handy 2

Updated over a week ago

Sometimes the Handy 2 will find itself having issues booting up or being able to clear cached data and find itself stuck. In these scenarios, it's worthwhile trying to reset the MCU to see if this helps the device complete the necessary steps to continue operations.

Let's take a look on how to do this:

If you look closely at the Handy 2 buttons, you should be able to see a indentation at the diagonals between each button.

For this next step, you'd need to use a paperclip (Or similar diameter tool) on the top left indentation.

Push your paperclip through this indentation, this will open a small hole in the silicone but is expected and won't void your warranty. This won't damage the Handy 2's capabilities of passing a IPx5 test as the silicone will close enough so no fluids will get to the PCB.

Once you press this button, the Main Compute Unit will reset and force a reset of your device.

It is worth noting that this is NOT a factory reset, it simply does a full reset of the device, further than what a restart would do.
