This guide will walk you through everything you need to get started — from setting up your account to connecting data sources, installing the Polar Pixel, and building your first custom report.

⚙️ Setting Up Your Account

Before diving into your dashboards, let’s make sure your account is fully set up.

1. Complete Your Account Settings

When you first log in to Polar, head to Settings → Account to:

  • Update your company information and default currency

  • Set your time zone (this ensures your data aligns correctly with your ad platforms)

2. Invite Additional Users

Collaboration is easy in Polar! If you’d like teammates to access your dashboards:

  • Go to Settings → Team

  • Click Invite User

  • Enter their email and assign a role (Viewer, Editor, or Admin)

💡 Tip: You can manage user permissions anytime from the same page.

3. Add Workspaces

Running multiple stores or brands? Create additional Workspaces so you can manage each one’s data separately.

  • Go to Settings → Workspaces → Add New Workspace

  • Name your workspace (e.g., “US Store” or “Wholesale”)

  • Connect data sources specific to that workspace

👉 For a full checklist, see Account Setup Checklist.

🔗 Connecting Your Data Sources

Now it’s time to bring your data into Polar!

From your Home screen, click Connections to start linking your accounts. Polar supports direct integrations with:

Each connection takes just a few clicks — simply follow the authentication steps for each platform.

🧩 Pro tip: You can connect multiple ad accounts from the same platform if you manage several brands or regions.

Once connected, Polar will automatically start syncing your data (this may take a few hours depending on data volume). You’ll then see metrics populate across your dashboards.

🎯 Pixel Tracking & UTM Setup

To get the most accurate tracking and attribution data, you’ll want to install the Polar Pixel and ensure your UTMs are set up correctly.

1. Installing the Polar Pixel

The Polar Pixel helps track your ad performance and customer journeys — directly within Polar.

Follow the step-by-step guide here:👉 Polar Pixel Installation & Tracking Parameter Setup

You’ll find detailed instructions for:

  • Installing the Pixel on Shopify

  • Adding UTM parameters for Facebook, Google, and TikTok campaigns

  • Testing your setup to confirm the pixel is firing

💡 Tip: After setup, you can verify that your Pixel is capturing events correctly in the Settings → Tracking section.

📊 Exploring Your Dashboard

Once your data sources are connected, head to your main Dashboard — this is your command center.

Here’s how to make the most of it:

  • Read key metrics: See your revenue, spend, ROAS, AOV, and more at a glance.

  • Change date ranges: Use the top-right calendar to switch between time frames (e.g., “Last 7 days” or “This Month”).

  • Filter data: Drill down by channel, campaign, product, or country.

📺 Try it yourself: Hover over any chart or widget to view tooltips with metric definitions and trend comparisons.

🧩 Customizing Your Reports

Every business is unique — and so are your reporting needs.

In Polar, you can easily tailor your dashboards to fit your goals.

Add or Remove Widgets

Adjust Data Granularity

Use the dropdown above your charts to switch between daily, weekly, or monthly views.

Save Custom Views

After customizing your layout and filters, click Save View — this lets you quickly return to that setup later or share it with your team.

💡 Pro tip: Save one view for “Daily Overview” and another for “Marketing Performance” to stay organized.

⏰ Scheduling Reports & Alerts

Want updates without logging in? Polar makes that easy.

  • Scheduled Reports:
Go to Reports → Schedule Report to have a dashboard snapshot emailed to you or your team automatically (daily, weekly, or monthly).

  • Alerts:
Set performance alerts for key metrics like ROAS or CAC so you’ll get notified when something changes significantly.
