Setup takes about 10 minutes. Here's what you'll do and why each step matters.
Step 1 — Connect your email platform
This is where your contacts will be sent. You'll need your API key ready.
Step 2 — Add your website domain
This authorizes your site so the script is allowed to run and collect contacts.
Step 3 — Install your script
The script identifies visitors on your site and generates contacts. Without it, nothing collects.

Step 4 — Verify your script
Confirms the script is live and working before contacts start collecting.
Step 5 — Update your Privacy Policy & Cookie Banner
Because Retention.com identifies visitors without a form sign-up, your privacy policy needs to disclose this before you go live.
Step 6 — Choose your email strategy
Decide how you'll email contacts when they're identified. Getting this right early drives results.
Once you're set up
Contacts will start appearing in your email platform automatically. Volume grows as more visitors come to your site.
