Inspections in Street
Street uses a 'due date' system for inspections whereby a due date is set to remind you of any upcoming inspections. Setting a due date will generate an inspection with that due date on the tenancy.
An inspection due date can be set when progressing a lettings application or when completing an existing inspection. You can also manually create an inspection from the tenancy page at any time.
The inspection due date is the value used to display the inspection data on the Tasks page, highlighting information such as inspections to book within 30 days, unconfirmed and overdue inspections. This tile can also be used to view any tenancies missing inspections. If you need to mark a tenancy as not requiring an inspection, see this help article.
Note - Street will only detect tenancies with a lettings service level of Fully Managed as requiring an inspection and therefore Let Only and Rent Collection tenancies will not show in your Tasks page in the Inspections tile.
Inspection Settings
There are a few settings relating to Inspections that can be found via Settings (left side panel at the bottom) > Branch Settings > Inspections. You can toggle inspections on/off, choose when the first inspection should be and set a duration for inspection appointments. See our Inspection (Settings) help article for more information.
Note - You will need to be a Branch or Company admin to access these settings.
Inspections
Clicking 'Inspections' on the left side panel will load a table showing a list of your inspections.
Inspections tab
The inspections tab shows all currently scheduled or booked inspections, allowing you to monitor and keep track of their progress. Here you can filter the table, search for a specific property, click into an individual inspection to open that inspection's details or export the list by clicking the 'export to CSV' button at the top right (if you cannot see this button, see this help article for how to enable the permission).
By default this table will not show cancelled or closed inspections however you can filter by these statuses to show these.
Deleting inspections
On the inspections table you can tick the checkbox next to multiple tenancies and then delete them in bulk by clicking 'delete selected' at the bottom right:
Cancelling inspections
Should you need to cancel an inspection, access the individual inspection via the Inspections table. Alternatively you can go to a tenancy and click inspections to view that tenancy's inspections. From here, you can cancel an inspection from the individual inspection page via actions > cancel inspection:
Note - Cancelling an inspection will send an email to the tenants informing them that the inspection has been cancelled. This notification is called 'inspection cancelled' which can be toggled on/off and the content of the notification can also be edited.
For more information on managing this notification, see this help article. If you want to manage this for a specific property, see this help article.
Tenancies missing inspections tab
The tenancies missing inspections tab shows any fully managed tenancies that do not have an inspection scheduled or booked. This makes it easy to keep track of your tenancies and ensure inspections are not missed.
Ideally, this table would be empty as this means that all of your fully managed tenancies have an inspection scheduled or booked. If any tenancies in this list do not require an inspection, this can be setup here.
You can search for a specific property as well as export the list by clicking the 'export to CSV' button at the top right (if you cannot see this button, see this help article for how to enable the permission).
By default this table will not show any tenancies that have been marked as not requiring an inspection however you can click the 'include tenancies not requiring inspections' to show these.
Marking a tenancy as not requiring an inspection.
On this table you can tick the checkbox next to multiple tenancies and then mark them as not requiring an inspection in bulk:
For more information on marking tenancies as not requiring an inspection, see here.

Typical inspection workflow in Street
Creating an inspection - The first step is to create an inspection. Inspections can either be created by the system when a due date is set or manually from a tenancy page. For more information on this step, see our creating an inspection help article.
Scheduling an inspection - The next step is to schedule who will be carrying out the inspection and set a date and time. For more information on this step, see our scheduling an inspection help article.
Confirming an inspection - Once an inspection has been scheduled, it needs to be confirmed, sending a notification to the tenants to confirm the inspection is booked. For more information on this step, see our confirming an inspection help article.
Adding an inspection report - When the inspection has been carried out, you need to choose whether to add an inspection report. For more information on this step, see our adding an inspection report help article.
Completing an inspection - The final step is to complete the inspection and set the due date for the next inspection. For more information on this step, see our completing an inspection help article.
