How to Install the Updox Central Printer (Windows)

Audience: Windows users (x86/x64 only — Windows devices with ARM-based processors are not supported).

Install the Updox Central Printer - This requires Updox Central to be installed first.


Step 1: Open Control Panel

Navigate to the Start menu → Control Panel.

Step 2: Add Printer

  • Click Devices and Printers, then Add a Printer.

  • Select The printer that I want isn't listed.

Step 3: Manual Setup

  • Choose Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings, then Next.

Step 4: Select Port

  • In the port list, choose Updox_9100, if available, then Next.

  • If not available:

    1. Select Create New Port

    2. Choose Standard TCP/IP Port

    3. Set the hostname/IP as localhost

    4. Name the port Updox_9100

    5. Click Next

Step 5: Set Print Driver

Under Manufacturer, select HP → then choose one of:

  • HP ColorLaserJet 2800 Series PS (Recommended)

  • HP ColorLaserJet 3700 PS Class Driver

  • HP ColorLaserJet 3800 PS Class Driver
    Click Next, then Replace the current driver if prompted.

Step 6: Name the Printer

Name it Updox Central Printer for easy identification. Optionally set as default printer or sharing preferences.

Step 7: Print a Test Page

Print a test page to validate the setup. A green print item will appear at the top of your Updox Inbox when successful.

A: No, Updox Central Printer requires x86/x64 Windows.

Q: How do I know installation worked?
A: A green print item appears in your Updox Inbox after printing a test page.

Q: None of the print drivers listed are available on my device.
