What to Know Before, During, and After Casper & Duet Assessment?

Everything You Need to Know — Before, During, and After the Test

Updated this week

What Is Casper?

Casper is an online, open-response situational judgment test used in admissions to assess how you think and respond in challenging, real-life scenarios.

  • It is not a pass/fail test.

  • Measures key personal and professional qualities.

  • Your answers are compared to applicants for similar programs, in the same country and language.

🔹 Before Your Casper Test

A. Reserve Your Test

  1. Create an Acuity Insights account

❗ Do not create more than one account to avoid issues with your score distribution.

  2. Find your test date and deadline on the Dates and Fees page.

  3. Check your admissions cycle to make sure your program is open for applications.

  4. For Canadian schools, choose your test language carefully — this cannot be changed once selected.

  5. Log into your account and reserve your test date.

B. Prepare for the Test

✅ Tip: Use the countdown timer in your Acuity Insights account to avoid scheduling mistakes across time zones.

📌 Need accommodations? Visit the Help Centre and submit documentation 4 weeks in advance.

🔹 During the Casper Test

A. Tech & Location Requirements

  • Use a computer with Google Chrome or Firefox.

❌ Do not use Safari, phones, or tablets.

  • Take the test in a quiet, private location of your choice.

  • Comply with our Terms of Use. You must be alone, and your webcam and microphone must stay on the entire time.

B. On Test Day

  • Log in 30 minutes early to check your device and internet connection.

  • Wait for the test to begin at the scheduled time. It may take up to 5 minutes to start.

  • If your test does not start or you’re late, use the chat bubble in your account. Late entry is not guaranteed and latecomers may be refused entry.

💬 Support Tip: Chat support is available on every page in your account (bottom right). One chat at a time = faster help.

C. Video Response Tips

Speak loudly and clearly, directly into your microphone so your responses are easy to understand.

D. Technical Issues

  • Use the chat bubble to contact support as soon as possible.

  • Provide specific details to help us assist you quickly.

  • Avoid starting multiple conversations as this slows down our ability to assist.

🔹 After the Casper Test

A. Completion

  • Once the test ends, you can complete an optional demographic survey or simply close the window.

  • You’ll receive an email confirmation within 24 hours.

  • You can add more programs to your distribution list after the test, if needed.

B. Score Delivery

Casper results are directly distributed to your selected programs 2–3 weeks after the test.

Your quartile score will be available 4–5 weeks after test completion.

What Is Duet?

Duet is an untimed value-alignment assessment. It compares what you value in a program with what the program has to offer..

  • Appears in your account automatically after you reserve Casper — but only if one of your selected programs requires it.

  • Duet can be completed only once per admissions cycle.

  • There is no practice version of Duet.

A. Duet Deadlines

Must be submitted before the earliest distribution deadline of any program on your list that requires it.

Recommended: Complete Duet within 14 days of your Casper test.

B. Duet Score Delivery

Results are sent to relevant programs 24 hours after you complete Duet.

📌 Reminder: If you do not complete Duet, your Casper score will still be distributed, but Duet scores will be blank.
