Your Eli Test may not have developed properly. After use, a valid test
should show at least one line. There are two reasons why this may have occurred:
Insufficient Saliva
β
Hold the pad in your mouth for a full 60 seconds, while actively generating saliva. Saturate the pad completely; the more saliva the better. A light touch won't activate the chemistry and it will be easier to pull the test in the next step. If you are still facing issues, keep the test in your mouth for 2 minutes.
βIncomplete Pull
β
It is possible that the test strip has not been fully pulled. Pull the tab slowly and steadily until a blue dot appears on the handle. The blue dot should be completely visible. Don't stop at the first sign of resistance. Force is required to reveal the dot entirely.
3. Dry Mouth: If your mouth feels dry, sip a small amount of water before taking the test.
4. Before the test: Avoid eating, drinking (except water), smoking, or brushing your teeth for 30 minutes before the Eli test. Do not take biotin supplements beforehand, as these can affect test accuracy.
