What can I do if I am having trouble scanning the test?

If the Eli App is having trouble reading your test, try the following steps:

  • Make sure you're using the latest version of the app: Check the App Store and update if needed — this can resolve unexpected issues.

  • Check for visible lines on your test: The app needs to detect one or two lines in order to read your results. If no lines appear, the test may have been unsuccessful.

  • Clean your camera lens: A quick wipe can make a big difference in capturing a clear image.

  • Look for the green square: Once the test is recognized, a green square will appear on your screen and the capture button will light up.

  • Adjust focus if needed: Tap the lens button to switch cameras on your iPhone, or pinch to zoom until the test is clearly visible within the cutout.

  • Follow in-app instructions: The app may prompt you to move your phone closer or farther to improve focus — these suggestions are based on what the camera is seeing.

  • Use bright, natural light: Imaging works best in a well-lit environment.

  • Place the test on a flat surface: This helps the app scan the test more accurately.

If you're still experiencing issues with capturing the image, please share a screenshot of your User ID (found under Settings → About Eli) with ask@eli.health. Our developers can take a closer look and help resolve the issue.
